Well its been almost a year since i bought my Vezel. Its a Z edition. I have driven it 87000 km. I have taken it everywhere. Hazara Kohistan to Swat and some remote areas in Punjab. my previous car was a 2.4 ltr Accord. When i switched to Vezel , it seriously felt under powered. Secondly it was my first Hybrid ride. But now living with this ride for the past one year. I came to the conclusion that.
Hybrid cars should not be driven as normal non-hybrids. We need to change our driving attitude with the ride that we have. My Vezel can easily give my 180 without making me feel that am pushing it hard but then i have to forget about economy. If i want fuel economy , I have to be gentle with my ride. specially when i am moving the car from a total stop position.
I sold my Vezel a month back and kept a Hybrid Axio for four weeks but driving an AXIO made me feel what i have lost in a satisfying ride. so i went back . sold the AXIO on a 1.5 LAC loss and got back my Vezel and i had my reasons for it.
The points that are mentioned above may not be very valid to decide that the vehicle is not worth keeping.
The day i bought my vezel , i went to Sultan Koh and bought a spare tyre. i have never gotten a chance to use the spare but i never leave it out because a tyre burst can be a problem and my normal drive is more then 7000km a month. so not having a spare doesn't disqualify the ride for being a good ride.
Spare parts , well ya they are damn expansive but they are easily available. one needs to have a few hundred thousands if the car is in a bit serious accident.
Service , yes you can not take it to a normal mechanic but there are places other then dealerships where they can fix everything in your ride. You nly need a good mechanic with a good repo and who has a good scanner to read ERROR Codes through the OBD port. I had no problems for service in Peshawar, Islamabad, Pindi, Lahore but Abbottabad was a problem.
We need to change the way we think. if we need the power and torque, the G-Force when we press the paddle , and the chill in our spine. Either we have to move to another OLD Tech all time fuel driven cars or we have to switch our Hybrids from an EV or ECO mode into Power or sports mode. Sports for Vezel and Power for Prius.
I can write a very detail article on what Vezel in offering in its price tag in comparison to Prius, Accord, Camery, Crown, CHR and other JDMs. if we only stick to JDM.
European rides are a whole new story then.
One last thing that I would like to mention is that The Vezel has lost a lot in terms of value and i guess thats the main reason where an owner gets disheartened. The Vezel that i bought on 3.5 million is now worth 2.9 million. and if the ride gets hit or sprayed then the value decreases more.
