I am in no way questioning the quality of JDM cars. My review is specific to this hybrid model. I believe Vezel hybrid technology hasn't evolved enough to enable smooth driving. It should be all electric below certain speeds i.e. 30 km/h regardless of acceleration until the battery runs out of juice, engine should be used as backup power only or at high speeds. With current type of hybrid, the main powerhub is engine while EV mode is only used to keep the momentum, or very little acceleration at low speeds.
Only electric drive is actually very smooth when it doesn't convert to engine. Its smoother than any gasoline car I have ever driven.
With Honda Vezel, I have no control over hybrid technology, it does what it does, switching between EV and engine mindlessly. Doing a little research about Hybrid cars, I found out about Toyota Prius Prime and its exactly what I want in a hybrid car. Watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuZndESmBZc
You can choose all electric mode which runs upto speed of 103 km/h without starting engine. Looking at this video, Honda Vezel hybrid technology looks ancient.
I made a mistake of not researching about Hybrid technologies thoroughly before buying Vezel.
