I want to convert my toyota corolla 2000 diesel, 2C engine into petrol, please suggest is ot a good option ? and how much it will devalue the car ? which petrol engine is best to be converted ? also its cost ? without alteration?

Well I practically done it. Bought 99 diesel corolla swapped 7afe 1800cc engine and It took some khuwari but that car was a teeat loved its ride for next 7 or 8 years and I regret I sold it. Bought car for 550k swap costed me 100k and in the end sold the car for 700k reason it was just like original engine and every little detail was taken care of. Btw I also used 5afe in corolla 88 but 7afe is amazing. Amazing torque excellent fuel average and brilliant engine. Can easily last 300k+ KM. Most important thing is wiring it properly if u can find a competent electrician you can also go for bit modern 1nz engine but 7afe is fits like a stock engine in this car with no alterations. I can also refer you to my mechanic if ur in islamabad if you can afford him.

Well maintain it well it will last long even if it fails or starts burning oil a normal ring, /valve job lasts 3 to 5 years in these engines. But there is a massive difference between power of 2E and 7A.

Well I never said it can be done in 100k now a days. There is always risk involve in buying stuff from scrap yard and you should know what you are buying. It took me few days to find engine of my choice. You can take ur mechanic or compression guage as well.

Prices gone up for sure maybe it will cost a bit more but at that time cheaper 7afe were available but that vendor knew what I need and he got me tht in few days.

I did it and I can do it and will do it again very soon Inz this time with auto

Thats what we are waiting for to swap a 2E auto with 7AFE auto in an Indus. 2E was smoke less for over 285000 kms, with CNG. Now the puff at throttle and slow throttle response, and the 500 ml oil consumption says the time is over,. To rebuild the OEM parts for 2E are not available. Chinese & Malaysian are there which are bit dodgy to risk the exercise.

with passage of time 7AFE landing at scrap yards are rotten raped for wiring etc.
lately there was a thread for 1NZ-FE swap in Indus in Nowshera but it was without auto trans. due to engine bay space limitation.

100k is my budget, i dont want to sell it, as it is orignally 139k driven so far, every thing except engine is fine and at its place.
