I want to install auto-folding mirrors in Corolla gli

Hello everyone. Another query I had was for the installation of auto-folding mirrors for my corolla gli 2012.

I did search montogomery road and I was quoted 6000 for installation of motor and some plastic bracket. Not sure if I should go for it as I've heard that there are issues sometimes with these motors.

Can someone recommend a good shop/suggestion as to what should i do?

I also wanted to change my infotainment. Currently, I have the original corolla gli limited edition installed from factory which has Bluetooth but the backcamera isn't the best and I was told that it was mainly because of the poor screen resolution that i have. Should I upgrade it and how much would be the cost?

I would like to install something with airplay so that it is easier for me to use with my phone. How much would that cost? Is there any reliable shop in lahore that you can suggest for this as well?

do you have a price in mind you want to spend on the replacement screen? You can install a android headunit and there are some great options but i've always found that the standard 7" din size suits the car better. That being said, your good android headunits like nakamichi and onkyo start from around 20k and go up from there (would suggest getting one of those rather then the generic Chinese crap sold everywhere)

Next best bet is a branded headunit like Pioneer or Kenwood. If you want to spend a bit more, you can get a pioneer headunit with wired AA/AC for about 50k. Or one that supports wireless AA/AC for around 70k (Pioneer A5450bt). The audio quality going like this Generic Android units < Nakamichi/Onkyo < Pioneer/Kenwood etc

Is changing just the back camera recommended? Maybe installing somethign with night vision back camera

I got confused cuz of the dual id. Like I said, there are great options like the pioneer z5050bt which costs 50-55k that has wired carplay and aa. No wireless. The cheapest option you can get that in is the pioneer a5450bt which is around 65k

I'd suggest something like the onkyo 1120 or the 1000. These are 2/32 and have wireless carplay and aa. Fall under the 25k bracket

As for the camera, first check your current camera with the newly installed headunit (whichever one you decide on) and then replace it. The details will always be better with a better aftermarket headunit and possibly a replacement camera but do 1 thing at a time and see the results

Soundworks would be the place to go. There are 2 installers there, ask for the more experienced guy, not rhe kid to do the install. As for the onkyos, if it's something you wanna go for, first ask the prices. The 1120 has certified carplay and aa. But it doesn't have rear preouts incase you want to install an amp. But if not, it has high level inputs for all 4 speakers and a sub output too. Most people install a 4 channel amp to run the front speakers/components and sub. In that case, this is perfect

The 1000 has more features and supports front/rear/sub pre outs. But the carplay/aa is through its app which also works flawlessly regardless

I have installed Retractable mirrors with auto folding kit in my corolla 2006 around 5 months back. I sourced the oem mirrors+ complete wiring + oem switch panel and auto folding kit from Lahore (I am based in Khi). Its working perfectly fine. Got it installed from my electrician here in Karachi. If you want, I can provide you the number of Lahore guy.

For the Headunit, I will straight away recommend Pioneer or Kenwood if you want Top sound quality.

Did you try sound works? There are a few shops in the basement too in that same plaza who I know carry onkyo players. If not, let me know and I'll source one for you you from here
