I want to modify a car. Please help me this is going to be my First PROJECT

Salam to all Pakwheelers. Hope you all are fine and doing well. So its been a year since I am addicted to rear wheel cars and that 1jz/2jz engine monsters. Now I have finally decided to build a nice and clean car for my own use. Yesterday I went to Bilal Gunj market for searching of 2jz or 1jz engine and I finally came up with two engine choices that are currently available and are in my price range. However, they said after one week, lots of engines are coming and you may get a nice one for your car. Moreover, there are two choices of car. One is Toyota Corolla 1980 (KE 70) and another one is Datsun 120Y. Both cars are in good condition and the owners demanding reasonable price. So basically the main purpose of posting this topic is to get help from you guys. First of all, tell me the bestest mechanic/electrician/Bodyworker/Painter/denter or a Workshop where every work can be done nicely(location Lahore). I can pay more, but I don't want my project to be going against my idea. .Another help needed is to guide me which model and engine will be best? A 1jz turbo or a 3sge beams non turbo, also the cars. Which car can be customized easily? ke70 or Datsun 120Y? (keeping in mind parts are also a major factor).

I don't know why your thread didn't catch a lot of attention.my advice on your project is buy a corolla 1982, and the engine depends on your choice whatever you want fuel economy, speed ,power.spare parts of corolla are more easily available then Datsun.

Datsun kay spares bhi available hain.
Inside parts like interior wo to Toyota ka b easily nai milta. Baki engine spares, and lights etc wo sab miljati hain Datsun ki bhi.

But still 90%of corolla's are on the road.so I'd expect more easily available spares then Datsun.

Rb26dett hai 120y Datsun ma (model confirm nae) karachi ma and ek 1jz swapped mane lahore ma dekhi hai.

You can get the Datsun and swap it with a 4-age or a turbo 7afe or a 1jz turbo. If you are looking for a non turbo engine with high power results, I recommend the 4-age since it can rev upto 8500RPM stock. Some people have taken it upto 9500 or even 10K RPM.

And then one day they loose this engine since over revving a 4age kills it sooner.

in pk the swap goes like this.
4age - (yaar wo youtube pe 10k rpm pe jaata hai)

user revs it 8K every gearshift using 20W50 heavy oil running on dead cold engine,
engine suffers rod bearing failure. (goes to machinist and gets robbed)

user sees 2jz - same story all over again.

bhaio - 2JZ and 4AGE are now buzurg engines, find something else to do, the only reason they are available in pk now is because they are defunct and cannot be used in other countries.

if you want to do a swap - try a nissan VQ35 in a sunny.

Didn't 2jz and RB are still famous for drag racing? Specially in abroad.

2JZ and RB30 are how old now? Most of the cars that can take 2JZ engines have been crushed and recycled - and a lot of countries prohibit street cars from having high polluting engines like the 2JZ (which we know is a drunkard)

VQ35 is nice - specially in a sunny (you have to smack it in) - torque out of range, wheel spin comes first.

There is a great difference between a FUN car and a FAST car!

FUN cars are more enjoyable and rewarding to drive even if you are always under the speed limit.

A friend of mine spent a lot of time working on a corolla ke35 two door in Islamabad. He settled for a 1.6, 16 valve 4age which officially made 130 BHP out of the factory. I am sure his made less!

The car was FUN TO DRIVE! It was not super fast or the fastest in town. But it was safe, controllable, comfortable yet very engaging to drive. That is why he could make it scream and push it hard without endangering himself or anybody else on the road.

Why do you think the mazda miata is the worlds largest selling sports car?

Small rwd cars with basic suspensions and little weight are prone to disaster with BIG six cylinder engines in my humble opinion. I don't know how you can enjoy a car that is setup to kill you!

My honest advice is to stick to 4 cylinders whichever car you choose.

exactly,
one can buy an old beat up corolla and even restoring to factory spec (including little original style cable clips) - can be rewarding.

a 16 valver 4AGE in an E70 corolla is very nice to drive.

You are right,
I don't know why, but people here just want to swap a 2j/1j or a 3sgte, an rb and more recently an Ls in everything, I've seen them in everything from rx7's to even a suzzuki fx(that one was apparently a 2j). It's like fun and slightly more practical 4bangers like the sr20, k20/24, b16/18, 2zzge, 4age(non crazy revver 16), 7afe, Qr25(spec v sentra?) Don't exist!! Even the new horizontally opposed FA's and old ej's are nice and a breath of fresh air

Its called fast and furious syndrome,

for such - car = burger.

chassis = bun
engine = patty

putting a carolina reaper instead of a meat patty into a bun is not a burger. But thats just my opinion
