Phoenix is at the painters and has had a full treatment to remove all rust and traces of old paint. However it rained several times therefore surface rust has re-appeared. Irfan plans to clean up again (when the weather improves) and apply primer the same day

I just found a picture of the parts from the dismembered bus in Canada after they arrived in Pakistan
. here you see the cargo doors, front doors, rear hatch etc loaded in my Santro being taken to Babar's

The bus is still at the painters. Irfan found some imperfection on the roof and pointed it out to me. Rather than take the bus back to Rawalpindi or get Arshad to leave the workshop for a day and visit Islamabad we hired a local panel beater to fix the waves in the roof that surfaced only after the coats of paint were removed with paint removing gel.

the panel beater (denter) who did most of the work is in Pindi so getting the van back to him for a small job didn't sound practical. The van is drivable and we drove her to Islamabad from Pindi but with all the windows removed and no signals or warning lights I wouldn't want to try that again unless absolutely necessary

Oohh... that's the reason why it wasn't better to take there again.

For many years there used to be a blue & white 1960-61 11 Window Bus (ex ambulance?) standing in G-8 Markaz (near Camera's place). It was owned by a ruthless mechanic who used it as a shed, despite many cash offers over the years. To my horror, I discovered one day that it had been sold for scrap. Unforgivable.

Here's a hardworking '65 Kombi I spotted a couple of days ago in London.

Sir if its the same car as shown in 1st pic, then why the number got changed? it was IDB-7154 before and now its CL-2404.

I do remember that bus. It had bullet indicators up front and was used as a storage shed. I am not sure if it was chopped up. I believe it was rescued. Next time I am in the area I'll try and find from the old timers.

You got me seriously confused. I had to go back and check all the posts before I could find the CL 2404. IDB 7154 was and is the number for the bus that is being discussed here...the blue and white bus. CL 2404 is Mohsin Ikrams bus in karachi. They are both split windows but different models, different owners, different cities hence different reg. numbers too.

The paint was stripped off and the bare metal was shining

yes it is the same one...you don't seem to pay attention to the updates. I did mention that it is with Irfan painter. Anyways it won't be bare metal now as it was sprayed a coat of primer a few days back.
