I just got my new honda registered from islamabad. Following documents are required.
1. Application, Form F, Checklist etc (all available here http://islamabadexcise.gov.pk/DOWNLOADS/MVR/REG_DOCS/SET_NEW_REG.pdf)
2. Both sales certificates as well invoices
3. Proof of residence (Your CNIC if ur resident of islamabad would be sufficent otherwise ull need bills, property documents etc to prove ur a resident of islamabad)
You should try to arrive early at the excise and taxation office like 9am. The procedure is as follows:
- The inspector will inspect your car and sign it. The inspector sits in an open area just before the HEC office in a narrow street. Only after he signs your documents you should go to the taxation office. Park your car on either side of the road or in the kacha area on the opposite side of taxation office.
- After you enter the office, on your immediate left there is an office for biometric verification. He will give you a small chit after verfication.
- Take all your documents and then go to the right side to office no. 3. which is on the back side of the booths giving challans forms. The inspector there will sign your documents after verfiying your CNIC.
- Take the documents back to where you came from at the challan booth and stand in the line at the booth which says new registration motor car. (2nd booth from the right). He will give you the challan with the exact amount of payment to be made.
- Deposit the payment in the NBP bank on your right. He will stamp and challan form
- Now take all your document and have them photocopied. The photocopier office is right outside the taxation office. All your documents will be taken by the taxation department. Therefore photocopy of file is important
- After photocopy, go to the office right at the back of the bank where your deposited the challan. He will check your documents and ask you to pay the smart card fees. Afterwards he will take all of your documents and give you a paper stating your registration number and date of delivery.
- Take that paper and go back to the place where there was office number 3. Just before the office number 3 there is a sign board which says that get number plates from here. Give your sheet of paper to the guy in the window he will stamp your paper and give your the plates on the very same day.
Some tips:
1. Arrive early. I cant stress this enough. Even in Ramazan there is a lot of rush after 10-11am. and additionally you wont be able to find parking space.
2. Keep agents away from you and your car. It took he 2-3 hours to get the entire process done and get the number plates. This AGENT CULTURE needs to die. Dont feed these as***** for something you can do by yourself. Additionally you wont know the real agents from the fake ones. There is a real risk of losing your documents etc. If you really really really want to go through an agent contact your dealor, They probably know one or two of these as****** who can at least get the job done.
3. Ask people in front of you in lines to check whether you;re in the correct place.
It might seem a lot of effort but all it takes is 2-3 hours.
