Ideal temperature level of a car

Guys,

I drive Toyota corrolla 2000 XEG with the AC on. The problem is that the temperature level reaches halfway throughi.e in between H and C. I've heard its bad for the engine. Should I get the water coolant changed? & what is the ideal temperature level be?

yaar if u want to keep it near c
then
1. change your fan from auto to manual & run it continously
2.also install 12 blade extra fan in addition to it

2 fan will keep temp. low.
also get your radiator serviced after every 2 months & change coolant as usual,use good quality costly coolant

The best thing is to get hold of your car's manual, it would tell you what it the correct needle position. The current Corolla (xli-gli) should have always needle in the middle position be it winter or summer ac or no ac and every car has different normal needle levels. Forcing your car to cool down below the desired temperature is also harmful to the engine.

yes u can install 12 blade fan in any car
it will cost from Rs.1000 - Rs.3500 depending upon company

@ autophile bhai jaan my mamoo is an engineer.... he is very fond of cars... and know pretty much about them.... once he said to me that keeping the engine cool increases the engines life...hot engine weaks up quickly... i dont know why u are contradicting him...???

.One more thing for your info.Well jab aap ac on kertey h to aik additinal fan RADIATOR key pass laga hota hye jo HOT AIR emit kerta hey Ac chalney ki wajah sey that's why ur needle is kept constant at 50% levelor ossey ziyada nahi berthi hey rite or wrong.ager khoda na khosta osney chaltey chaltey kam chor diya aur ac chalta raha to tumhari gari heat up ho jati hey.So 2 fans are theri mostly in sedan car One is already function when u starts ur car.to get ur needle at 35-40% level wihtout ac and constant.

yaar in efi cars or those cars which are computerised.. the temperature level does not increases above the half point...
the automatic fan in most cars suchas baleno xli and honda waghera starts working when the temperature reaches half..

if there is something wrong with the cooling system and the car gets hot... the temperature needle still remains at the half way.. and then the computer plays its part.. it tries to cool the engine either by switching the AC off and stuff like that...
the gist of my post is that the needle's maximum point is half way though the actual temperature of the car may be different(high)..
you must have seen it on motorways. that when u switch off ur cars engine for fuel refilling... most cars do not start then.. but after some time say 15 mins they work properly... this means the computer was not letting it start caz of the high temp.
i hope i have made myself clear.

if it stays in green fine. Or haan green ka matlab jahan tak green ha. I think normal temp is between 76 C and 82 C.

Sab say aasaan tareeka ha jab needle highest point per ho open the hood and simply look into the expansion tank if there are bubbles (boiling) then its overheating if the water surface is stable all is fine.

whats an expansion tank... is it the bottle which is connected to the radiator????
