Idel problem on ac and when car is cold

I can't promise you that this is what is wrong but significantly the worst part in Lancer's problem arsenal is the IACV. Most probably your IACV is failing and there is nothing you can do but replace it, new one is 28k plus for original part. From Dubai I got a quote for 550AED. When I will go to Dubai next I will go to a junkyard or tell a relative to acquire it from one. And if your car is CNG then I can't tell you this would be it because I have no idea about the working of CNG vehicles.

You need to provide more info.

Is the car on CNG? If so, does it do the same on petrol?

Did a mechanic fiddle with the rpm?

Is your battery going out?

No the car is not on cng. mechanic did not fiddle the rpm. battery is 3-4 months old. last year it was not an issue. I sometimes idle upto 30 minutes when needed. but this summers, whenever i stuck in rush of traffic ac stopped working, pta ni shayed itni traffic dekh kr ghabraa jata hai. I showed this to my mechanic and ac wala too, but they said k ac is perfectly fine.

lol... i'm suffering from the same issue nowadays. The RPM is not stable on idle and goes down to 200 often. When I turn on the A/C, the low RPM causes the AC to trip and eventually the car stalls.

I would advise you to take it to Sherwani motors/Toyota Highway as they'll probably be able to diagnose it better. I suspect my car's issue is the failing IACV which i've heard is the common culprit in the Lancer. Yours might be the same issue.

Gentleman AOA I have lacer 2006 1.3 Glx since 2009. I have experienced same prblem too. Its basically related to the electric coke sensor of the car. Local mechanics seldom understand it. They either increase the rpm of the car sort of advance it. Or just play with the throttle body settings. Best is get the electronic coke sensor replaced and it should do fine. The problem occurs on both petrol and cng. But in cng case its more worse. Esp with ac on.

I have recently gone through same problem in JDM lancer 2007. I am an engineer so I tried to solve the matter myself. Checked the throttle body and found out choke sensor is non-functional. Just go to any scrapyard in your town, and get choke sensor (it cost me 3000Rs after bargain) and it takes just 5 min to replace the sensor in throttle body.

My car is functioning perfectly now on idle with AC on. rpm never drops down from 700 line. My engine is 4G15 with CVT gearbox.

IACV should be replaced at 80k km service.

Suleman Sb.: I've this 2005 Lancer - been using it since last two years now. Lately, while car is idle with AC on, its RPM drops. It's petrol driven - current odo reading is 191k+... I had tuning work done like 6-8 weeks ago. Today, I took my car to Mitsubishi Islamabad motors. The technician told me that the stepper motor may be bad. Do you suggest looking for something else before replacing stepper motor? Please guide.
