^^ Agreed,
Your are correct but it depends whats ur target audience?
If ur telling people who dont know anything about bikes and engines to not to tune adjust tappets upto 5000Kms... they are doomed!
Yes u can save money SAFELY up to 1500~2000Kms as i said earlier.
But above that would be a risk....
Just recall, how many time you had tuning and ur bike was still sucking big time or even got worse response than before?
Thus What i mean to say is, if ur mechanic made a mistake with valve clearing adjustment and you drove like that for 5000KMs with all kinda beating and rough usage! Ur ride has certainly got considerable, preventable damage!! Thus making a habit of getting things checked before it snaps off is much better than saving 150 bucks of tuning ur bike.
Thus as a Standard statement - good 4 all people, I'd say 1,000Kms is ideal, 1500~2000Kms is MUCH MUCH Recommended, Above that if something snaps!!! Ur urself responsible...
And again, Hondas do take beating easily.. but with Chondas and Suzukis and Yamahas - DOnt expect that much!
My yamaha Junoon has engine from Yamaha Crypton T105... Its a bike which is currently being sold in 2nd world countries...
The manufacturer (Yamaha) rely on educated, well equipped dealer services and mechanics while designing that engine...
U'd be shokha with this engine.. and its not designed to take anything easy!!
But when we talk about the 80's technology 125 and cd70..yes they can take this easy going, chill mahol mentality bcoz these where designed in the era when mechanics were not that educated everywhere.
Also note how many UGLY UGLY looking Sprinters, GS, Junoon and various kinda Chondas u have seen on the road... their shaggy condition is a result of ignorant mechanics and owners.
Hondas on the other hand is luckier that most mechanics know them relatively well.
The problem is... that ur avg. mechanic down the street knows far less about this technical **** as you do... So... would u trust him with ur bike? Would u bet all ur money and live on the edge?
I'd rather like to keep loosing 150/200Rs more often and stay on the safer side.
I have tried many mechaics with my junoon.. and guess what? none of them take work seriously! And you can only judge their work if u really have some reading and research on bike - something which newbies dont have at all!
