Identification of original engine in honda city 2007

I am going for the purchse of old Honda city 2007. I am doubtful about the originality of the engine installed in the car. On the top cover of the engine is written VTEC while owner claims its IDSI. Please someone help me that how can I confirm the originality of engine.

The engine installed seems to be the l15 engine from VTEC steermatic. I-DSi city came with a 1.3 non-vtec engine.

Idsi had 8 plugs.. this is the simplest identification. Secondly normally when engines are swapped, either engine number.is changed in book or directly tempered on the head. Genuine honda has red colored base over which number is embossed. Have a clear look at that. If u see it pily/dirty, clean it with petrol and brush to see for any temperings..

Also swapped engines will have egr near to oil filler cap. PKDM city didn’t have egr.

Best thing is to check the documents specially invoic there is engine number written, verify that with the engine numbe stamped on the car. That should clarify if it has genuine engine.

Actually i don't know the location of engine number of Honda City. It would be highly helpful if u could let me know thr location.

On City 2003 to 2008 its located beside clutch cylinder. You can check the following picture for exact location.
