How do u rate them? As the oil placed on 1[SUP]st[/SUP] & 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] position are really good if ur prime focus is reduction in noise but the oil placed in 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] category will never help u in that case its use will definitely increases engine noise.

Dude u are on different track, getting reduction in engine noise is something different then of performance & durability enhancement. Rattling sound of timing chain etc in small engines is pretty much acceptable & doesn’t harm the engine if things are ok & the lube being used is up to the recommended specifications. Typically recommended SAE grades of oils for majority of vehicles are 10W-40 & 15W-40.

20W-50 oil in most of the cases is recommended for weak engines as its thickness helps engine to improve its compression & defiantly reduction in engine noise. In small bikes people here in Pakistan hesitate to use 10W-40 15W-14 or 20W-40 oils as while using these relatively thin oils they find a bit more noise in engines & assumes that these oils are not good. On the other hand using 5W-50, 10W-50 & most common 20W-50 in perfect or new engine could deteriorate or results in sluggish performance due to its thickness while operating at optimum engine temperature i.e. ~100 C⁰. API Servicing rating, JASO MA tag/Seal & SAE viscosity grades all three are different things so while choosing lubes one should choose the recommended viscosity grade & while expecting high performance higher API service grades & JASO recommendations should be considered.

People seeking less noise & willing to replace oil after 800Km shud better use loose available Golden motor oil with API SE, & SAE 50 rating that will costs 170~180 Rs litter & will defiantly perform as per expectation & wud be cost effective too.

I think thats enough..They can pour whatever thy want in their RIdes(their ride their choice)..ALso your post regarding everything you mentioned is entirely incorrect..This discussion must end.

Aircooled bikes dont work at 100C
Multiviscosity oils are blended for a specific purpose..They must be thin enough for the oil to lubricate instantly(recirculation) when the engine is cold and also thick enough at running temperature so the oil lubricates the engine effectively
So please spare the again and agian limitless discussions on oils and their viscosities.

Basically the thing is we are using obsolete motorcycles in our country. Their designs haven't been change for decades so to me it doesn't make any sense of buying high grading oil especially above then mentioned in User manual

Thats a diffrent topic & i know very well that our old desigend engines still not that bad at matellurgy( Atleast the 2 japanese Brands).

Our neighbouring country is producing higher end small bikes these days. Despite they are offerring sleek & stylish bodies, disk brakes, ABS, EFi etc but in most of the cases their basic engine designs & matellurgy is almost same as of our bikes.

Among the the worlds fastest, production motor bikes Hayabusa is using almost same basis design 16V DOHC TSCC (Twin swirl Combustion chamber) which was intoduced in 1980 so should we blame Suzuki Japan for using old technology as well ?

I m not recomending any specific oil/grade but trying to say the same thing as u mentioned that one should pay more if he really wants to enhance overall engine perfomance & duarbilty & must follow recoendations but why to pay extra bucks for standard garde product just because its being imported & even not adding more value.

I assure u that most of us just got impressed by Brand name, price, & assurity of being Imported reagrdless of the actuall specs & capabilities of the product & they only do that with 1 intension "to have the better performance". I dont care who is spending how much for which thing for which purpose but this in an open forum & atleast people shud know every aspect if they are unaware.

I am using Atlas Honda Oil & it works fine no problem
yeah i agree so no need to invest money or time searching imported oil
they does not really boost performance of engine
But again it depends upon user if he does for his enthusiam no problem
he may purchase no matter how expensive imported oil is
and obviously they might be better quality wise compare to local ones

In simple words no problem if
devilskreed prefers liqui moly
amjad635 prefers local oil
there is no reason these two ARGUE with each other
both should respect each other choices

First things first..It is expected for a thread discussion to keep the thread topic in mind..The thread clearly indicates it is related to Liqui moly oil discussion..There are some general terms used in forums as ON TOPIC and OFFTOPIC replies..I am not an alien to discussion forums and these are pretty basic terms..It would be nice if the discussion doest not deviate from the above-mentioned topic..

The thread prime intention is guidance for Liqui Moly brand 4stroke range and outlets..People have the very right to do whatever they want with their rides even if they want to pour in cooking oil they can do so..Enforcing one's ideas is just anarchy..Best we can do is guide people..ANd regarding the bikes their Running temperatures vary from 200 to 300 F which is greater than 120 C and less than 200C..It is piece of cake for me to demonstrate the Running temperature as i can easy test them fro my institution..

I take things pro-actively and i saw the thread deviating to another local/imported useless wars where it was necessary for intervention..Lets not deviate from the original topic

Following are results of my search for Liqui Moly Oil in Karachi.

Oil : Visited Following shops
Plaza Motors : LM Not available
Khan Motors : LM Not Available. But they have Mobile 1(Made in USA) 10W40. Price 1150 Rs.

Finally Visited
Zafcom : LM Not Available
: Mobile 1 Available. 10w40 1150/-Rs.

They shopkeeper in Zafcom was quite a decent person and discussed with me about different oil grades. He showed me BOOKLET of REPSOL oil. There were following options in REPSOL
: 10w40 => 1150Rs.
: 20w50 (Rider) => 850Rs
: 20w50 (Off Road) => 850Rs

So finally i purchased Repsol 20w50 (Rider) in 850 Rs. So far results seem good. Engine sound decreased and feeling some smootness in ride. But i think actual results can be verified after 700 KM.

Tuning

Visited Meeran Autos as suggested by abdulrehmanrauf. Overall treatment to bike was quite satisfactory. Good thing was that they tightened up each and every bolt of bike, Sprayed WD40 in wires. And all misc. issues were resolved.

So i think one could give a try to Meeran Autos.

Plug

Now i am in search of Spark Plug (Irridium). In this regard, i have asked Zafcom guy to check if he can arrange one. I will check him today and will update if gets one. Please give your advice in this regard for any good plug for GS150.

Break Shoe
Also need some advice as to which company break shoe are better for GS. Currently i replaced original Suzuki ones, but their results are not comparable to those which came originally with bike. So plz advice.

You can find him near nagan chowrangi (Supreme Avenue). Meeran autos and mechanic name is Tariq.

Come straight to Nagan bridge. Use bridge and go towards Upmore. Upon reaching bridge end, move to right for U turn. Take U turn. Now when PSO pump comes move to service road and go straight follow the road. You will see masjid Siddiqu-e-Akbar. After masjid you will see road bending, move to extreme left and go straight. After 1 or 2 kms you will see a board of Meeran Autos the big S of suzuki.

Dear, could you check one thing. I am little in doubt about the performance of my bike on long routes. After 15km or so the bike performance decreases and it runs little heavier. I am noticing this behavior after Repsol oil change. Bro I am not sure if it is due to oil or may be something else.

Recently I have changed the clutch and pressure plates so clutch plates issue is not anymore.

I have daily running of approx 60 KM (30KM one way). So i am specifically trying to notice this since couple of days. And also getting the same expression as mentioned by you. Like after intial 10KM or so bike thora khich ker chalti hai.

So far 260km done after repsol oil change. Lets wait for 1000KM, then we can decide whether to continue with this oil or not.

Overall engine sound is good. If it gives running period of 1500KM+, then i am thinking to give a try to Mobil1 10w40/Repsol 10w40 on next oil change.

I thought the pivital point of our discussion was not to waste money of custom duties if you can have same from local market or if you are that much interested then its better to go for higher grades
But still its the user manual which is stopping me

Were you using 20w40 grade oil before repsol??If so then its perfectly fine..20w50 oil is heavier than 20w40 so you will observe that bike will feel heavy during riding..
