Illegal to Drive on the roads with a learners Lic?

Guys, is it illegal to drive a car on the roads with a learners license? Today I was stopped by traffic police and he told me that you cannot drive on the road with this license. (I have stuck a large L sign on front and back). Also is it necessary to keep car registration document in the car all the times? or should I just keep a copy of it.

well i dont think so that its illegal to drive with a learner's lic. coz i have been doing so myself for the past 4 months. and i dont even have a L written on my car. and ya we should have atleast some original papers or even a coloured photocopy would be of help. especially when someone wants to give u a challan and u dont have anything original. thats the best part

You need to hava a passenger who is a driver. U cannot drive alone with learners licence

i drive it always :), with my learners get stopped at times, have no L sign on my car, well when they stop me they usually say u cant drive with this and i say why not? and they stay quiet :|. stop traffic police, then they tell me that u have to give a fine and im like what for? then i get asked for my car papers, dun keep em in my car, jus have a registration photocopy stating the reg. number of teh car and the anme of the owner.. and they keep telling me i cant drive with this pice of paper, and i keep saying ur officals gave ot to me, then they say it experied! and im like its says CLEARLY that it'll expire on june 2008 :|, really funny, jus dun get scared, keep ur cool, and keep telling em what for? eventually they'll just let u go :). and its a learners drivers liscene if we aint supposed to drive, what am i supposed to do with it? look at it? The funniest thing happened. A week ago they stopped me infront of american embassy. I just had my learners license and abt 30 rs coz i forgot my wallet at home. So when they stopped me they started adding fines and it went upto 1500 coz of tints,wrong number plate and talking on the mobile. So when they stopped me i started rubbing my eye and it became so red that the sergent asked me "beta aankh mein kya howa" I said "Uncle infection howa hai doctor ke paas jaraha hoon"
I just lied coz i knew if they got my papers, my tints are gone for sure.

the rule says that if u r the learner then u must have a full time driver with u at all times when u drive...

Yes it is necessary to keep the original dox. Just tear the first page of the registration book, laminate it and keep it in the car... it will work..

p.s the reason he caught u was that he saw the L sign and probably no one was sittin with u...

Guess I'll have to remove the L sign from my car. I don't think it would be a good idea to keep my original documents in the car.

it is illegal if u drive alone but if u have ana dult with a licence then its not ilegal n learners licence is for 3months only,2 get da permanent licence u need 2 have a learner licene n use it n have da L sticker on ur front n rear wind screen as well

tell u one thing i dont have driving licence at all and i'm driving car for more than 6years no problemo
but this is only for ppl who drive the car not stretch the car

Now as per law "under-aged" driving is prohibited not driving without the license. However for the sake of good citizen sprite have your license made by any means...

I have been driving for a very long time... never been stopped by the tullas all over the country. i have had my computerized licenses from khi, lhr and isb... that too without "learner"

driving alone with a learner's permit is prohibited. u must have a duly licensed driver with u who atleast has 3yr driving experience. I'm afraid evading the law by nagging the officer again and again just shovels dirt on one's own character. For further info, turn over ur permit and go through the rules throughly...moreover, a cop will pull u over if u keep driving out of hard shoulder...

Plz Dont Take Risks ! If you have a Learners Liscence and God Forbid you have an accident, you will be put behind bars ! So either try to get an Adult's Liscence or try to have someone with you ! Cheerz !

i drove for about 3 years without having a license even lolzz!!

but putting 20 to 40 rupees as spare in the pocket ..

U need to sit wid a Licensed holder guy in order to Drive LEGALLY

Yaar according to rule with Learner License you should have a Xprencd Driver and also Bold Letter L on front and back of car. Rule is for ur own safety.

As i donot had person who can always stuck with me while driving so i didnt wrote L on my car n drove abt 6 months n few days b4 xpring of Learner License i appear for test n qualify for the License with out reference.
