IMC please recall infotainment/head unit in Altis facelift

I have got a work around. No problem if YouTube, Google Maps or any app does not work or has stopped working due to version update for newer Android system.

Install EasyConnection app on your phone
Turn USB debugging on on phone
Hook your phone with USB cable to HU
Launch E-Link app on the HU.
Select via USB option
Follow instructions
For voice it will ask permission for Bluetooth pairing
And voila phone screen mirroring is on
HU screen becomes your second phone screen
Now you can enjoy latest apps, navigation on it.

I really like it because it is seamless, smooth operation.

Sorry for the double post, didn't knew this forum existed, other post has been deleted.

I just downloaded and tried with EasyConnection app, didn't work. When i connect my phone via USB, it downloads and install Drive Mode app automatically, however, even after it's installed the E-Link app gives an error in connection.

USB debugging in on. And i tried with both USB slots, one under the climate control and one in the glove box (even though this one mentions its for iPhones)

I had faced similar situation and had given up. But this time it worked. Important if doing on android phone keep usb debugging on or choose file transfer on USB hook up.

Use good quality data cable. Attach it to the middle USB in the panel. Extreme right is for charging only I think which has aux too.

In the glove compartment remove any device from the cable.

Then try.

May be my system got updated twice, it started working with mirroring. The HU prompt asked me to install EasyConnection from play store.

Alright will keep trying, but so far it's never worked for me. Tried different USB cables, including original ones that comes with the phone. Will get my firmware updated soon, the E-link interface on your HU is different than mines maybe because of the updated version. Might work after i get it updated.

So got the firmware updated today. After that, i tried the E-Link and it worked. For the 1st time in 2 n half years it's working. Apparently it was something to do with older software.

I was talking to the guy updating software at Toyota Islamabad and he told me that the HU are mix and match. Some cars have 2gb RAM unit while others 1GB. Is it even possible that toyota would just randomly put different units in cars?

Earlier units came with 1gb ram. 2gb units were introduced last year I think.

I m using with Note 10 plus...on Grande FL hu. Working fine...mine is updated to latest build by tecno staff

No..they started giving 2gb ram units from feb 2019..before that unit had 1gb ram. Rest of the unit was totally same

Okay. Well i told the guy that this unit is too slow, lags, gets frozen etc. He was like yeah you were using way to old software. Use it for few days now and let me know if it's still does that. If yes, "will do something". Now, what does that something means? I mean, toyota ain't that great in customer care that they'll just upgrade my unit.

Can anyone do me a favor? Can you plz play youtube on your HU and check what quality do you get? For some reason, for the past two weeks it only plays in 240p. I've reseted the HU completely, uninstalled and installed the youtube app again, today, even got the firmware updated. Still, the quality is same and i cannot find any option to change the video quality. The video quality, of course doesn't matter while driving, but the sound quality gets bad with it as well soo...

Video quality also depends on data connection speed.

Tried different Data sims and Wifi devices. Still the same. However, it is better through mirror link. tried it right now. It's just the HU's app thats not working properly.
