Immobilizer in honda city 2k17!

guys whats meant by optional immobilizer??? is it a paid feature? if not opted will the cost reduce???

It's pretty much impossible for a car with immoblizer to be stolen. Yes, it's a paid feature, but there's a price difference of like 10,000? And I'd opt for it even it costed 50k. Care for the 1.6 million you are paying for the car, not the 10k for the immobilizer. Cheers mate.

Cars with immobilisers can be stolen too ... all the theif needs is the car key.

It is STANDARD accessory which is accompanied by the new 2017 cars. I am attaching a picture of this device. It doesn't have any buttons. As it is a transmitter you just have to keep it with the main key for the car to start. In its absence the ignition will not work, no matter what you do. As for installing this device in older cars, the dealership is silent about it.

Most of the confusion was caused by this word "optional". By the way this immobilizer doesn't produce any sound etc. Its, as I mentioned, is a transmitter only and without it you cant think of starting your car.

the word optional is as shitty as immobilizer is. . .its just a frequency encoded transmitter that wirelessly complete the ignition circuit. . .but its clumsy !

What if this keychain is lost? is there any way to protect the keychain? Why the efff they had to put it in keychain instead of the key?? I have bought new city and now I fear that if somehow this keychain lost i'll be stuck in bigggg truble!

I have a civic and I have 3 keys for sure which are programmed on ecu. I remember having a 4th one too but not sure if i did get it programmed.
