So far 9BL has spoken the hard truth. I have gone through one of these episodes. The cost to repair the damage was more than vehicles value; the insurance company declared it a total loss. It was a 1999 Volvo S80 and the hail damage was in 2002. There were approximately 65 dings on the hood, roof and trunk of the car. The only repair option was to replace the hood and trunk. The roof was the most expensive fix. It had to be fixed in-place since cutting it off and replacing it would have rendered the vehicle less safe and may have even earned a salvage title from DMV.

Rather than trying any gimmicks that may worsen the condition, bite the bullet and get it done right. You probably know that already; you are just afraid to accept it.

I had hail damage on my Nissan Titan. Damage was on the roof and the hood. Paint shop quoted $ 2000 which includes new hood and new roof with fresh paint.

bro u will hav to get it repaired in that expensive amount...all other secondary methods are not gonna do the job

sale this car out....getting it repaired will affect its resale value. People think its accidented from front thtz why repainted.

i have lost 150,000 every time i bought a honda due to poor resale and quality.
that has happened 3 times.
now i m happy having corolla. Good suspension, durability and reliability.

The person how's talking abt Honda's poor built i will let you know My Santro, Baleno 1.6Gti and Vario were out there and equal damage to all of them. My neighbor's Belta another neighbor's corolla and some Mehran's where also there and damage is almost same. We are living in Askari and in Flats most of the ppl park their car's outside their Flat and i have seen so many Corolla, City, Civic, Cultus, Vit'z damaged in same way name the car n it's damage it means all the Car's built quality is Sh**t. but this is not the case hailstorm was so heavy and car's are damaged sue to high volume and size of those ice balls.

here i will add when i rub my hand on the surface of hood and roof i cant feel any bump but i can see them on a shiny paint. I will try dry ice method as prescribe by one of my friend here coz i dont wana go for paint job done.

I searched PDR paintless dent removal mentod here but till this time i havent find any guy in here. Owner of Honda central was laughing when i asked him abt PDR n said he'z havinf best techniques of the world, they foolish guys think that we will believe on what they are saying.

I am hopeful that i will get results from dryice, n i will get it from Walls ice cream wala :-).

With this hail storm i have seen so many car's damaged n most of them already excepted re-paint job but i will not and Inshallah will get some +ive results with the help of you guyz there.

Evidently you're ultimately jealous of Honda and fail to realize your foolishness. If Honda has screwed you once, twice, why would you go for a third one? There's clearly something you missed when you parted with your Honda.

You must also understand resale equates to nothing, from all practical points of view. Also, high demand for a product doesn't mean its good but is apparent value for money. People tend to eye entry level Corollas as better than Honda Citys, however the number of Civic Vtis (previous gen) verse Saloons are more.

At the end of the day, a similar hailstorm damaged a Nissan Titan and Volvo S80 as well as the Honda City similarly. I doubt your rolla or mehran could have withstood the storm..! ROFL

hmm, well guys if u search for "hail storm damaged cars" on google images u'll see plenty of examples ........... and you know what ....... there was not a single picture of a Mehran being damaged from Hailstorm.

However, I did find a picture of an SS (an american muscle car built from solid steel ........... yeah those were the days) being damaged from a Hail Storm.

Now what can I say. I didn't find a picture of Mehran on Google Images so this says something about the built quality of a Mehran. Case Closed!

my uncle was in lalazar at the time of the hail storm and also a victim. he parked the car under a tree but the bonnet was like somebody hit hammers on it
its a chevy joy.
solution 1 was ....replace bonnet with new
solution 2 from my painter/denter.....he said he will try scrub a layer of the hood. the hood was going waste anyways.
anyways they scraped it and it worked!(obviously the hood was painted after that).

yar there is his denter guy in lahore Javaid denter go to him he will fix your problem no big deal for him even if he repaints ur whole ride no body will be able to point out that its repainted this guy gives 100% money back gurantee that if even Honda Japan can tell the car is repainted he will pay u bak for the whole car. Try him out but he is kinda expansive.

by the way my brand new gli rolla was also in the hail storm and i could c ollay hitting my car when it stopped i ran to my car to c its position and to my surprise there was not even a single mark on the car Alhamdullilah :d

So finally i wont find any solution for this without doing paint job. I will not opt for this n run my car with those small bumps. Honda, Vebra and all other's recommending same thing..........................

its a brand new ride man trust me c the javaid denter lots of friends have gone to him for denting and no body could tell even if the car is repainted. Trust me just go and c him he sis some where near pepsi factory in gulberg industrial area, i can confirm u the place if u want to.

someone posted an RX8 denting and painting done by this guy. he took ages to do it and had some flaws to.
