Import fees on 2005 kawasaki KX250f

Salam,
I recently bought a 2005 KX250f in canada for $1800 used. Over here dirt bikes are usually not road legal.

I was wondering if anyone here knows how much it would cost me to import this to Lahore.

As it weighs 209 lbs dry, I can carry it there by air in 4 trips if travelling alone or just 1 trip if travelling with 4 people (45lbs limit/person). How much would the tax/import fees be on this? and would it be road legal?

As far as i know it will come as personal luggage. U have to ship it sepratly and u have to get carfax that u will take it back with u on the way. If you want to leave it here in pakistan the model has to only 3 or may be max 5 year old then u can pay duty and register here in pakistan.
This is the info i know but may he some professional can help better or correct me if i am wrong.

I was just thinking of taking it along with me next time I go as Its very good for riding on very bumpy roads/offroad. Whats bother me now is the fact that the engine life is 50-90 hours max. Their motors have to be rebuilt under preventative maintainance because they grenade when the fail and then you need a complete new engine.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but only 5 year old bikes are allowed.
Your better off by bringing a few parts i.e shock absorbers etc. find a donor bike in Pakistan, get a brand new Chinese engine and voila- you have your own bike

yea I should.. I should even only use a very small part of the donor bike frame (IE only fork bearing thing that holds the vin). Custom bike I guess...thats if I move the parts. It was just an idea.

I dont think a chinese 250cc engine will make 33-36hp. The engine is probably 65-85lbs (40kg) Im guessing. A full engine rebuild kit is around $800 in parts alone (titanium valves, springs, forged piston, crank and little stuff) without labour. Forks and wheels and stuff might weight about the same.

I think I should just import 2 stroke motors from here to lahore. a CR500 2 stroke can push close to 90hp if race built and it only weighs like 30kg. 4 stroke motors weigh more to move by plane but then the 2 stroke race motors like the CR250, CR500 take soo much fuel.

parts will not be easy to find locally. If I can bring in an engine, I can bring the parts too.. The problem with them is fuel efficiency and engine life. I hear people get 20mpg on CR500s (10km/litre) and their top end (pistons and rings) only last about 30 hours of use.

I just looked into it and I can get the CR250, yz250, rm250 engines fairly easy and cheap but the CR500 engines are getting rarer every day as they just grenade sometimes crack the engine case
