assalmo alykum.
I wanted to find out how much it would cost to import a 2007 Mustang GT to Pakistan, final destination Lahore?
It has
4.6 Liter 3-valve SOHC V8 engine (4600 cc)
5-speed manual
2-door coupe
MSRP: $29,050 (window sticker in USD)

I am pakistani who holds US citizenship, but wife is a green card holder. We are currently residing in the states, but may return in December 2006. Which is the recommended means of import - TR, or gift? Also, what difference would it make if I were to put the ownership in my wife's name instead of mine? Any info would help, thanks!

8 lacs? sounds good. who would I have to contact to get the payment and paperwork done - should I do it here at the Pak embassy in the states or do I go to the customs dock in Karachi?

Brother nice car what you are planning to import......Brother i woud like to give you a suggetion.......

Instead of importing it from USA which will be a LHD import it from Japan RHD which will have better value in the Paki land......

I think you can get a good mustang from Japan but only 2006 not 2007 it is still to arrive in the market...

thanks, good suggestion. the 07 is just a carry-over for 06...I'll check it out. I didn't realize Ford of Japan made them too.

also just for your info LHD(left hand drive) is hard to drive in pakistan. max_mirza84 is right, try to import from japan instead of usa.

I do not think there is a RHD factory production Ford Mustang. Believe it or not, but Chevy tried to sell LHD
cars in Japan...failed miserably for obvious reasons.

So...Adnan bhai.....bring it on.

My suggestion would be to pick up a slightly used 05, so you can get some break on custom duty. Since the car brand new is around 12 lakhs.....duty should be around 10 lakh. You get around 2% rebate per month on a used car upto 24 month, ie a rebate of 48% max.
