Duty is dependent on engine capacity (i.e. CC) and hybrid / non hybrid thing.

50% relaxation in Customs duty for vehicles up to 1800 cc, and 25% up to 1801-2500 cc.

Then, cars (hatchback / Sedan) can be imported up to 03 years old from production, and for Jeeps, SUVs, etc. its 05 years.

Not recommended! I would strongly oppose any of the cars which you have mentioned.

Brother if in Pakistan, only import those models, which are considered as "Market Ki Cars", and have their counterparts in Japan, e.g. Yaris in UK, Vitz in Japan, and so ON...

Do not import Hyunadai Kona and Kia Niro Hybrid, almost zero support here regarding parts, mechanics and other stuff.

I am sceptical about Vitara 1000 cc, but I fear, it will meet similar fate like Kona and Niro.

If importing car from UK, then only import Yaris 1500 cc hybrid, or 1000 cc, if available, otherwise, best to import from Japan, and market ki cars only!

To give some idea:

1. 1000 cc Non-Hybrid: Vitz and Passo only! Boon may be the very last option.

2. 1500 cc Hybrid: Axio, Vitz Hybrid, etc. and from Toyota Only!

Honda may be seriously avoided in case of 1500 cc (or above) hybrid JDMs, due to multiple reasons.

Other brands are out of question, due to multiple reasons.

To conclude in a nutshell; only go for Toyota! No other brand, if you want reliability and peace of mind.

In case of JDMs, try to go for only market ki cars; if do not know, please ask here.

And auction grade may be 4-4.5 / above, low mileage, in case of JDMs.

ok thanks, my reason for sending a car which is not "market ki car"is that these days sending anything like parts and other items is so easy and reasonably priced because there are now a lot of courier type Pakistani companies in UK

thanks for this list but very confused as i have been looking at cars on pakwheels example is nissan qashqai to buy a 2018 1.5 diesel it can cost about £12-14000 so if we take the average in PKR that is approx 26 lac then duty is $18590 less 24% if two years old then we have duty of $14128 and in PKR
22.4 lac total is over 46 lac not including shipping and other costs.
how can it be selling here for 40 lacs not that i want to bring here and sell it.

now you got an idea how did bike pedaling motor vehicle brokers prospered so quickly. such brokers used the money laundering channels, used fake documentation under invoiced values to clear the bank & insurance write-off units purchased from japanese auction houses. undocumented non tax paid black money was used for such purchases. @cascadabathrooms

yes you can take advantage of buying economical paying all legal charges and selling it at premium price, but only once in 24 months (2 years)

one question that i wanted to ask is that are you sure that suv's can be up to 5 years old and would that mean that if depreciation is at 1% then it is possible to pay 60% less of the duty in theory if car is 5 years old.
I have been told that anything is possible in Pakistan but I was hoping that things might get on track with the new government but alas I think that maybe it will take a few more year before things get better, but hey what do I care I have spent 54 of my 60 years in UK and probably spend most of what i have left there too. So I'll let you worry about Pakistan

suv's can be up to 5 years old

as on 23 04 2020 policy is intact and yes upto 60% depreciation is admissable in case of SUVs

I am a member of an online car auction site in UK where people bid from many countries and i have seen people from Pakistan bid on cars as the country of bidder comes up when they place a bid as it is a live auction.
some of the cars they bid on are well over 3 years old just yesterday two bidders were bidding on a vauxhall corsa 2006 model that went for £350 but their bidding stopped at £300, just last year I was bidding on a qashqai for my wife and then suddenly i was competing against another bidder from Pakistan but this car was more than 5 years old so I was wondering if these bidders win how do they get the cars into Pakistan

if the country flag of bidder is shown due to IP address it is plausible.
But there are Pakistan Nationals living in many RHD commonwealth countries and dealing in automobiles.

one of our respected member is in South Africa he bid & buy across the world many RHD suv & other cars. another member @CrashD is also very well versed with UK vehicle auctions.
