- Save by getting refund 20% VAT refund from HMRC in case of UK for qualifying cars, 10% rebate for every exported car from Japan!
- Save on shipping by stuffing more cars per container
- use own networks of clearing agents and paying good rate duties and customs.
- 5 years rule is used effectively to save on duty by buying car accordingly
- cars are driven in Pakistan for years without registration and again offered in market for sale
above are reasons why these cars are cheaper in Pakistan when compared to self import.
for self import you can also save on few things and have a genuine car for personal use
- do use age limit for import to save on duty.
- buy a VAT qualifying car and use your own uk company or export from companies directly that can refund you 20% VAT, some shipping companies also offer this with some admin charges.
- use a good clearing agent who is not charging too much.
- do check car history from hPI or similar for UK cars.
even after all above you may not match the cars for sale in Pakistan price wise but you still have peace of mind of a genuine car with reliable service history and mileage
