with yen rising above rs0.8 and pound falling to 116.7 perhaps we should start importing car from england as not only pound is falling but so are the used car prices over there e.g 2006 e-200 available for 11500 pounds (approx 1.4 million)
are there any people who can import car from uk?

We in uk can send many cars for all masses of Pakistan. It just this custome rate is ridiculous. The should charge little custome. In the long run it will Benefit Pakistan, not the other way round.

Remove custom duty.

if u send loads of cars from england to pak it will effect the local market honda toyota and suzuki

and these 3 big fishes dont want that, so they make sure govt is on their side

if you visit the CBR website which is very interactive or the pakistan council website of uK they have all the details of taxes

japanese cars are taxed by engine size and every thing else is on the price tag when new. so when they say bmw is 80% tax they mean the price of the car (when new) 80% you will have to pay very simple

I am based in Oxford England and I have over 15 years of experience in the British used car market, I have experience of exporting cars from the UK as well as importing cars into Pakistan. I imported 10 Toyotas Hiace and Surf to Pakistan in 2006, believe me NOBODY will help or provide information unless you pay them! (maybe its this attitude thats holding our country back)

We had all the correct paperwork for importing the vehicles and it still took 26 days of running around Karachi to release our vehicles (and 60lakh in taxes and agents fees).

Anyway it was an experience and I did learn the hard way. I now know a reliable person in Karachi who will arrange clearance of the vehicle with 2 weeks at a very good price, you can then collect the vehicle from Karachi or it can be delivered to Punjab.

Which japnese origin cars are available in UK. As I talked with my clearing agent he told me that duty structure is same for cars from UK if these cars are made in Japan
