the IC engine did enable humanity to move efficiently,yet it wrecked the planet more than anything, even after 10 decades of evolution, the most efficient IC engines do not go beyond the thermal efficiency of 40 percent , there has been more pollution in the last 100 years than it ever it was in the 3000 yrs of human activity. polar caps are going away and cities are now unbearably hot to live. im not a greenie but EVs might give us a chance to save the planet
