In Karachi, are new number plates mandatory now?

Today I was stopped by traffic police when entering Jam Sadiq Bridge Korangi from City Center road

They checked my valid license and tax slip, then they showed me a flyer on their mobile that old number are not valid and crackdown is underway for two months in this regards

I told them that I haven't heard any such news or alerts related to this yet

They then said that they are leaving with warning for time being and will take action next time

So any one of you have any updates in this regards?

What do u mean by old number?

The crack down is for fancy number plates and fake plates, only if these are installed despite original number plates are issued by excise and ppl raoming with fancy or fake plates.

both of my cars are fitted with yellow tin wali temporary number plates (2021 models). jab officially he stamp laga hua hai excise ka k 'Number Plate Not Issued' tou kya masla hai phir? police walay tou kisi bhi cheez ko pakar kar masla bana sakte thats so normal. waise, the crackdown is on AFR/non official number plates only as i read the whole advertisement on sundays news paper.

by old number I meant old registration plate

yes that image they showed to me on their mobile and said that yellow number plates should be changed

not the registered yellow number plates which they told me

can u please guide.... ke ye "No. plate not issued" kis document pe likha hota hai?

I am facing same sort of issue about No. plates..... my car is BHQ and the number plates are not issued, thats what the last owner told me. unfortunately i never checked it out earlier. Now when the police is disturbing me daily, I dont know how & where in the documents to confirm that they were not issued.......

it is stamped on the original registration page showing registration charges plus number plate fee etc

Check this hypocrisy by traffic personnel.
I showed them original tax receipt which had “Number plate not issued” stamp on it.
Iriginal tin plates were attached.
Tax paid till dec 2023.
The officer says get them made from the malet and attach those.

All new transfers are required to get number number plates.

all temporary number plates are required to get white number plates even as temporary.

Our BXV Wagonr was stopped with Tin plates, The officer said make white plates that would be sufficient. have got orignal ones too, But no ones stopping on white temporary ones too.

Also i got the number plates without stamping, So i still have receipts that say NUMBER PLATE NOT ISSUED"
