Income Tax Return Question Related Joint Account Holder

Hi

If person having joint account in fix deposit and joint-A disclosed profit and tax liability in income tax returns what should b rule for join-B ? when he/she submit returns whether to disclose profit and tax again for join-B

What is Income Tax rule says about it

A person whose name comes first in acount title needs to be filler to get the current wh tax exemption

Nope bro this rules is not for pakistan both have to b filler other wise tax deduction for non filler and filler will divided to half if joint

if joint-A is filler and joint-B is non filler and if tax to b deducted 4000 will b 2000

Bro i works in a bank and now a days handle 4to 5 cases daily of this situation

What train said is right, the primary account holder needs to be an active tax payer.

i went to national savings centre i have joint account with my mom i submitted my returns to become filler. bank in-charge told me half withholding tax will b chargeable as u both not filler pretty much ****** up and didn't withdraw profit

Came home and called RTO islamabad he told me both joint-A and joint-B to b filler to exempt total withholding tax other wise it will b divided to half

you should ask again from the rto guy....or who over did your tax return, go to that guy again for some free advice....
