Dear Friends,
Its 1st August today, the independence month for our beloved land Pakistan.
Share some good comments, what do you think for your country, what you have done good for this land, what it has given to you, and what future opportunities regarding its progress, prosperity and your own career future do you see here..
Share preparation for independence day at your home...

For foreign based members, I request them to share what do they feel for their country, how it is being living abroad far away from their country.

Please please DO NOT put political comments, don't highlight negativity about our country here, everyone knows that there are lots of problems here, but for this time lets keep it positive.

Lets get united for betterment of this land.

as far as my self is concerned, I always feel proud to be a Pakistani.
My no. of friends are out of country for their jobs and many of them have offered me to join them , but I always say that "yar I am satisfied only in my country and with my parents".
I pay taxes (deduction in my salary :D), I keep my self disciplined, always abide by laws, always try to make highlight positive aspects for Pakistan (inherited from father).
Then on 14th august in my childhood when we were in joint family, we used to decorate our home with lots of jhandiaan and a big flag. Now we have our separate home and last year my elder brother insisted to do same...so we put jhandiaan and flag for decoration...
May Allah keep our country keep progressing..

Nice topic .
In my childhood we used to decorate our class room and home with flags and jhandian . I remember 14 August was celebrated like eid day. Sweet dish was distributed between neighbours . I don't see that enthusiasm now .

excellent topic i loved the time when i used to have a flag on my bicycle when august came it was something a feeling of being proud..now i just attach a flag at back screen

Yes that enthusiasm has dropped now, but we can still keep it alive, its all about matter of preference, like I wrote above that last year my elder brother suggested that we should decorate our home, even there was no kid at our home, so we both put few lines of jhandiaan and a flag on roof top, so you can still keep that enthusiasm alive.
Also only making celebrations on this day is not enough, we should also change our habits to prove our self a good responsible nation.

Before 14 August we kids used to discuss Falan k ghar sab say uncha jhanda laga hai. It was like a competition for all kids to install highest flag at home .

same here
we also used to save jhandiaan for next year, we had a quite big yard when we were in joint family, so there used to be hundreds of jhandiaan. ... rows of jahandiaan and making "haar"...
then usually it rains in august, so whenever it rained all kids used to run and fold jhandiaan to save them...
