I had a chance to preview the new Indian market Corolla here even before the formal preview which is tomorrow. The price quoted was approx. INR13.5lac with tax/title/reg for the manual and INR14.5lac with tax/title/reg for the auto version. I couldn't take too many pics and the lighting in the basement garage didn't make for a good photo-op. Anyways, i hope you like the pics. If you have any questions re: this car, i'll try and answer them, based on my impressions and what i was told there by the sales guys. A test drive is on the cards for next week. Cheers!

Any idea of the engine code number. I mean 1ZZFE like Pakistan or a newer one.

So It released in Pk before India Plus Price tag is higher too as compared to Pakistan. Since Exchange rate is higher of India

Are you planning on buying an Indian market Corolla?. I'm sorry about the exchange rate. It is priced affordably for it's range here, considering the equipment levels.

The engine specs are similar to the Thai market Corolla. 1800 cc 130bhp. That's all i know for now. The engine had "VVT-i 16 valve" on it.

Pakistan corolla's dash is lil different from Indian corolla dash.....engine is same 1.8 1ZZ-FE 130hp

the middle console ov indian corolla luks very stock! while as if we see the pak. corolla centre console, the DECK seems to be like too much inside!

Why do people compare prices of another country like this? There are other factors which you don't even consider.

Anyway they are lucky to get electronic climate control and a better dash.
Its like the Vti Oriel over here. Good sound quality and so much better looking.
These Pioneer and Kenwood head units just don't "fit in" with the rest of the dash.

Cool version. I love the central console. Its just like one they provide in U.S. (Y) Here its same cheap looking console. (N)

By the way can you tell us specs of the 2.53m model of corolla? It does seem to be a bit on a higher side considering that cars in Indian market of same and sometimes better specs than Pakistani models are cheaper there. Lets see if specs can justify the price.

Thanx for your comments!.I wonder what the exchange rate has to so with the price of the Indian Corolla. I mean, are people in India earning in Pak rupees?. Acc. to the market here it is reasonably priced based on earnings, competition and market share in this segment and i'm sure the sticker price will come down once discounts and incentives kick in, which is the norm here. Anyways, i'm not a great fan of the Corolla anywhere, and i'm just playing amateur reporter, or something like that. Kind of. Let's have a bit of fun. Shall we?. Trash this car if you don't like the looks of it. I don't give a sh*t. But, don't bring up all this exchange rate geegaw just to be a sourpuss. You know it has no relevance. Two different countries and two different systems. Thanks to the miracle of the internet we can peek into each other's backyards , puncture a lot of false assumptions and, make friends maybe?. That's all there is to it, IMHO.

we have a 1.8ltr 4 cylinder VVTi 130 BHP engine in the Corolla here.so i presume the engines are the same in the Paki and Indian corolla
is the new Indian Corolla having a sunroof and cruise control? and does it come in 1.3ltr and diesel verions?

Cruise control and sunroof , yes. No diesel version yet. The Innova is available with a diesel power mill. Next on the list of intros by Toyota is the Yaris( Toyota's 2nd factory being built to produce the car locally), the Rav4(import), and the Fortuner(import),

The price i've quoted included all, as in on the road. Just like in the US , there is a difference between list price and invoice price, due to discounts/incentives etc. I didn't quite get whatyou meant by '2.53m Corolla'?. Do you wanna buy an Indian market Corolla too, like PuNk?.

oh wow! the yaris.that is a really good car.it sold like hotcakes when it was introduced in Europe and the UAE.and India has lots of hatchbacks.I'm pretty sure it would be giving them a tough time.
