stiffness in clutch can be due to the clutch cable problem or if clutch is hydraulic than due to hydralic kit problem first roll out these thing if they r perfect than its the problem of clutch plate.
Speed problem can be due to some other reason like CNG setting, timing and etc.

i went to a mechanic and told him abt this prob..he checked the clutch and said that clutch cable is fine.. clutch plate and pressure plate needs setting to be or it may need to be replaced !! wot r ur suggestions on this???
i asked for clutch plates and pressure plate set for alto in market and they told abt 1400 Rs for the set of these 2...
they told its of taiwaan
now plz suggest me wot shud i do

if thats the problem and mechanic is giving guarantee that after replacing these your problem wud b rectified thn go for this. and if u r thinking or planning to change your car to a stage1 racer then go for the racing clutch plates n pressure paltes too.

nadeem5476 is right if mechanic takes the responsibility than go for it and u said that clutch or pressure plate need setting dont go for it because they will grind the pressure plate to make it smooth after that your this problem will be solved but a new problem starts when u release the clucth u fell vibriation so install a good quality clutch plate pressure plate set.

I agree that Pervaiz from AUTODOc is a very good mechanic. But i have been very unlucky. Three times it happened that i went to islamabad from Lahore and my car did fine while going. Was touching 130 on cng easily. I got tuning from autodoc since it was due, and after that car would not cross 110. Somehow ihave never had a good experience with him for cng setting.

its quite possiable. maybe the tuning was done by Aziz he is a new guy there and not equally experienced like pervaiz but they r good as compared to other mechanic.
another tuning center which is quite famous is AGHA Tuning centre near commercial market.
he is a young guy but good one. he himslef owns a Merc (old model) but in very good shape

My 87 Charade has same problem. In the morning car runs fine since the clutch is in the "cool"stage. After running the car for some time I feel the engine has loss of power.

Also, during shifting to 4th gear, the gear grinds just a bit to get into its place. Is that due to clutch?

Could someone give me estimate how much would a clutch kit would cost for replacement ? What will be the approx cost of labor on top of clutch replacement charges.

Sorry for opening an old thread, but I have a question regarding loss of power while a vehicle is standing at a steep place instead of plain. My friends vehicle responded badly on steep roads when started from 0 km /hr, but once it gets momentum then there is no loss of power. On plain terrains it behaves normally and pick is great. Can this be a symptom of weak clutch plate? Suggestion required.

a worn clutch shows up as slip, meaning the vehicle will behave as if you have the clutch pedal partially released. If your engine is bogging down, its not the clutch - its a tune problem.

Salaam,

I from Karachi...

A couple of days before I had purchased Honda City 2006.
Oh....Poor mileage like just 7.5 KM per liter..

Today, I've visited a mechanic, he checked and said that its a pressure and clutch plate issue...
As, car's engine is running but car is not running...

Mileage will be set, when u will change both... Also some times some issue on coil too..
in idsi they burn due to heatup.....

Need your good advice...
