Indications of a weak clutch and pressure plate?

Dear Pak Wheelers,

Can somebody answer the following car related issues:

1. What are the indications of a weak clutch plate and pressure plate? How do you know it while driving or in stationary position?

2. Approx. after how much mileage is the timing belt required to be checked or changed ?

3. How do you know that the brake pads are worn out and needs to be replaced?

if the clutch plate gone weak thn you need to push more the accelerator pedal thn normal and whn the car is loaded (weight) or u r going on a steep high thn it looses the power frequently and some times u can also hear the scratching sound just near from your gear lever.
regarding the pressure plate : if it needs facing then whn ur car is on idle state (started) and close the doors of the car, sit in the car and notice that there will b a jerk (bump) u cud feel automatically in the car (this to be observe minutely) and if your car has done around 30,000 km u shud change the clutch plate and shk the pressure plate too.

1) in case of weak clutch plate & Pressure plate your the clutch paddle become hard secondly the pick of your car become less and when u accelarate the car rpm is high but speed is less means if your car when its ok its goes to 80k/hr @ 3000rpm than with weak clutch plate it goes to 80k/hr @ 4000rpm or high.

2) 60,000 km

3) when u applied the brakes u fell that grip become less secondly paddle will become down and at the time of brake u hear the grinding noise of two metals.

oh yes thats why my cluct plates have gone.....cuz on down hill i touched over 130....but will styraight it stuck at 100....even after stage 1..some times.....

yes car give jerks ....maybe i cant notice that much of loud sound of exhast

Do you know of any good workshop in Rwp/Isb from where I can change the clutch plate and pressure plate and also buy original parts. I have a Suzuki Alto VXR 2006 model.

you can get orignal parts of Suzuki in good price form Kohnoor Autos in Saddar Rawalpindi. (Bawoo Mohla). and as far as mechinic is concerned pls dont go to these big workshops like auto club, vebra etc.
the are hell lot costly if u like i have a mechanic name shahid in chandni chowk he is quite good in his work and i am going to his work shop for more than 12 years.
if u want to go i can give u the mobile number.

1- I am not sure about the indications for weak clutch plate however the declined acceleration is one very common indication.

2- As for timing belt, you do not need to change it before atleast 80,000kms. I changed timing belt of my corolla at 94,000 while my khyber's timing belt at 90,000kms is still doing fine. Dont mess with original parts if they are not required to be changed. Use them as long as recommended. Change of original timing belt at 60,000kms is something i have never heard off.

3- As for brake pads in my case, they were making noises when i applied brakes and grip of the brake had gone bad so i think these are the two indications.

For original parts at reasonable price, contact Kiyani Motors in Gawalmundi. They are a very trust worthy and old dealers of spare parts for suzuki, toyota, honda etc.
For a mechanic, try finding one outside suzuki or vebra workshop. Suzuki/vebra people will rip you off. Suzuki mechanics are not even that well trained as we expect them to be.

first of all look at the driving condictions in pakistan & also the climate.
i said 60,000 kms because on the safer side beacuse allah na kara if timing belt breaks it will ruined the whole engine and than u have to spend thousands of Rs.
kiyani autos are also good.
i prefer kohnoor autos because they charge resonable prices but quality is 100% same.

wasim auto must be easilly having the highest sales of suzuki spare parts in twin cities.
besides him is Potohar autos,thats a nice place for suzuki parts to.
if u want to buy expensive and alot of parts Kayani in gawalmandi will be worth the visit

regarding the pressure plate.
another way to judge is to push the clutch pedal slowly and u will feel the un even jerks on the pedal at some stage (it should be even)
push slowly and gently thn u will notice this

sir pls pls dont go to wasim autos they will rip you off they will charge u very high price but as a brotherly advise i recommand u to visit (Survay) all the three shops

i weakend my cluch when my jeep fell in a deep hole of an under construction road could not see it coz of water gathered up

it was a huge hole and even 4X4 didnt make it come out final with the help of 10ppl pushing it was out

yar i have strange problem ..my cuore touches 110 km/h when i have 2 person total in car..bt when i ll be having 5 person it wont go beyond 100 km..some of people suggested me to check for its tunning of cng.(one thing more i didnt try over 110 km because of traffic nd once only i got the chance to check the maximum speed of car with 5 person in total)

yaar its not a problem it normal itna difference hota ha when there is a weight in the car and when not. dont worry but overall speed of you rcar is less coure can goes 120 to 130 easily firstly go to some good mechanic for CNG setting inshallah us sa problem solve ho jaee ga.
its just a opinion from my side rest is your decision that there is a good workshop at stadium road RWP with the name of AUTODOC mechanic name is Pervaiz & Aziz they charge u 300/= Rs for tuning (Just Labour only) but it worth and pls tell me the model and millage of the car.

or clutch press karte howe kuch feel bhi hota hai jese smooth nahi hai....is it dat my clutch plates hav gone weak ?? and also my car takes alot of time from 80km/h to 90 and above...lagta hai k engine pe bht load parh raha hai...it reaches maximum 95km/h when i move a distance of 1 km including a flyover of nazimabad !
