What are you considering replacing the G37 with when time comes? One of my cousins had I think a 2010 G37 coupe and he ended up getting a G37S Sedan- but he also had a baby son which tends to sway you into 4 doors!

I was debating between a new Maxima and G37.
Ended up getting the Maxima, as I have a 4x4 for winter, didn't need the AWD.

What are you considering replacing the G37 with when time comes? One of my cousins had I think a 2010 G37 coupe and he ended up getting a G37S Sedan- but he also had a baby son which tends to sway you into 4 doors!

I'm not sure yet what I'll end up getting. We are looking to replace the Lexus with a FX37 SUV in a couple of months. But as for the replacement for the G37, I'm thinking of a few alternatives. I don't like the new Q50 Infiniti so I'll probably get the Audi A5/S5. I'd love to get the Audi A7 but that's out of my range. The M4 or M3 is amazing too but I've only heard bad stories about things breaking in them (a few of my friends have M3's that have had problems).
Maybe I'll end up getting the range rover evoque. We'll see.

We just had a baby too but we use the Lexus for it right now and that'll do until we get the FX37.

Yep the Maxima is a good car. It has a lot of oomph and is better looking than its counterparts. I never did consider it since I love RWD cars (although they tend to become a bit wild in the winter). I live in California and it never snows here so RWD works well here. Plus I love raw power and the Infiniti's churn out 330HP which makes me feel giddy inside.

I actually live in Palo Alto. I work in SF however. Are you local to the bay area?

From what I can know, the Audi's aren't any more/less reliable than the BMW's.
The S5 with the V8 is a proper rocket ship though.

I think the Audi's have come a long way. A friend has a Q5 and so far it's been pretty good. BMW's on the other hand are arguably more prone to electrical issues than other german brands (VW excluded). I just think that if you shell out over $89k for an M3, you oughta be driving it everywhere without having to worry what will break down next. If I get an M3, it'll be on a lease and not an outright purchase.
Too bad there isn't any real Japanese performance car that I'd consider getting. GT-R is too much of a boy racer and the rest are power anemic. Subaru is good but it looks pretty economical inside (as far as aesthetics are concerned).
I'd love to get a Porsche but that's way out of my reach. I'll take a good look at the Stingray when I'm ready but that's got redneck written all over it even if it looks like a great ride.

It's not the servicing part that I'm concerned about. It's the defects that pop up once you take delivery of the vehicle. For example, one of my friends driver side window stopped working and he had to get that fixed under warranty. Then his stereo started smoking. And he got that fixed. And then his dash lights went out. I remember him bitching that his car had been in the shop longer than he had driven it in the first 3 months. And that's just one friend. Another friend of mine who is a surgeon at Stanford just bought a 3 series and she's had to take it back at least a few times last I talked with her.
So in the end, sure they'll cover it under warranty but I sure don't have the time to deal with it.

That's disappointing to hear actually. I thought Audi would have the immune system deficiency for electrics, but apparently BMW wins that.
The M3 would be an incredible car to lease! The GT-R and Corvette are both the same kind of lunacy in my opinion. One does it digital and the other one's a grandpa, but they're both equally crazy cars. They're both cars I'd like to drive but probably not own.

Yup. I've lived in the bay area for quite some time now. I live in Berkeley, work in SF, and have family and friends pretty much all over the south bay.
