When noticed the condition of polygraph (pg), got very upset(one was OK the other was in very bad shape).

and as stated earlier this is my first repair of a speaker.

Gradually and step by step Allah Almighty gave me the success.

Just look at the bad condition of the dome, spider and inner structure

the dome height was not up to standard specifications

terminals were also in very bad shape

Anyhow I opened its outer ring with the help of hot air and multiple pushes with a flat screw driver.

Due to the worse condition of spider, up and down movement was impossible of the pg speaker

The spider attached to the polygraph was stuck with a very hard glue type material, which I scrubbed with the help of
x-acto knife and xylene (thinner).

now after some cleaning of the spider, here is how it looks

Despite having very limited resources here in Faisalabad regarding tools, parts n tech support, I've strived to repair this magnificent pair of speakers.

An excellent work u r doing

please note that u have to perfectly centre the coil or u'll loose the sound quality (plus u'll get a sound of something rattling as well ... local repair guys used a paper funnel method to do so ... if u r not sure i can explain but i never did it on my own

now after some cleaning of the spider

you have cut the doom from its sides (the flexible part) ... this flexible part was suppose to control the movement limitation of doom ... it is a designed material ... gluing back will not ensure an optimum centre plus it will harden the material ... please be ware of what u r doing ... call me i can explain 0333-5109707 and if u know what u r doing ignore my comments considering me a person of out-dated knowledge .. thanks

well the paper ring width determine dome height

as mentioned by @naweed centering of voice coil is very important

ok ... now i am getting some idea ... u r on the right track but with my personnel experience i'm keeping fingers crossed

actually i bought some old studio monitors a while back and then tried doing something similar in the end i ruined their coils, repairs from local mkt did not help, the quality was compromised and ended up giving them away as a gift to a friend who uses them as guitar speakers
