Info needed on Australian Visa

I am planning on going to Australian F1 Grand Prix which is taking place in the last weeks of March 2010. I need some information on Australian Visa. Anyone knows how much time it will take and will I be able to get a visa in time if I apply by December end? Information on approx visa costs and return ticket cost from lahore/karachi would also be highly appreciated.

Application fee for a tourist visa shouldn't be more than Rs.8000 (if you're applying from pakistan).. processing time depends upon case to case, so nothing can really be speculated on that..

Regarding the price of a return ticket, so you should be looking at somewhere between $3000-$3500 or thereabouts (from Isb to Melb), not really sure but its just a rough idea..prices fluctuate considerably from season to season.

I believe it wouldn't make much of a difference, whether US$ or AU$, as there isnt much of a difference between the two currencies..

As for the price, so he has asked for a return ticket and prices have really gone up lately.. its almost a 14hrs flight one way from Isb to Melb (not factoring in any stopovers)..

here is where I got the prices from.. as it can be seen, i've been quite conservative with my estimation..

Thanks for the info guys. Return ticket cost is less than PKR 100k for emirates and visa charges are nominal. Real problem is the waiting time de to which i think i wont be able to go

Check the dates. You've searched for flights in December. He's going in March. In march the rate is around 100k.

i went in october with cathay pacific..got one way from karachi for RS 48000 with a free pass to the cathay pacifics travellers lounge because my connecting flight was 7 hours after my arrival in hkk.

when i was coming back in october from sydney to karachi i got a return ticket of singaporean for 1300 AUD.

Manif1 : go through the immigrations and visa site i gave earlier...i dont think the visa processing is long!

Can you confirm how much time it took you for the visa. Ideally I must buy the ticket(f1 grand prix) within this week or they will be sold out or the prices will rise

Why aren't you calling the Australian High Commissioner's office in Islamabad or their consulate in Karachi to find out how exactly how long does it take to get the Visa?

Their phone numbers are easily available online.

yep, in march its lower..and thats because in december (christmas season) he wont find any economy seats.. if you look closely, the quote which i've posted is for business class even though I had checked economy.. :rolleyes:
