Info req for Fairy Meadows with family

I have planned a trip to Naran but on going through some of Fair Meadows threads, posts and also awesome pictures, I want to ask some questions but before I tell you that:

1. We are Me, My 2 Sons (7 & 8 yrs old), Wife and Mother
2. I am from Lahore.
3. My ride is Cuore
4. I have 5 days to spend (including ana jana)

Questions are:

Can I go to Fairy Meadows with my family?
How far can I go on my own Car and where to park Car for onwards?
How to reach Raikot bridge... Route?
Raikot bridge to Tatto village fare (Rs.5500 I think) will it be two way?
Can I get pony from Tatto Bridge to Fairy meadows? Can I go safely to fairy meadows on pony with my family?
How to get most out of 5 days?
Hotel Rents?

Raikot bridge can be reached through KKH. Mansehra, Besham, Chilas, Raikot.

Thanks Rana Sahib.... I have seen in many threads that you are very helpful.... a little bit more info about reaching raikot bridge from pindi... how much time it will take. CNG situation. and where to stay at night...??

butt sab CNG will be last at Manshera......... not after that. and u shud use petrol anywayzzz.

5 dayz are less for this trip. if u have to travel by road ul take 3-4 dayz on road only coz u r with family....... u shud increase ur time frame.

from lahore to jang-bahtar interchage ul need atleast 5.5 hours. then ul enter KKH hassanabdal to Raikot bridge is atleast 15 hours on ur car also add a few more houre coz u have small car no a jeep etc........

personally i think u will reach raikot bridge from hassanabadal in 20hrs......

from raikot bridge to fairy meadows and bak u already know from many threads so u can c that u have not enuf time.

i have travelled many times on KKH and a couple of times on my Mehran and 1 on Cultus. so i like to think my guess is accurate.

with fam u r better off going to naran on coure and then take jeep from there till raikot bridge via babusar pass. this will be more realistic for u......

In the above link, they reached Raikot in 22.30 hours.

Since you are coming from Lahore. You can stay at Mansehra/Sharkool.

Then places of stay at Besham, Dasu and Chilas.

Stay 1st night stay at sharkool and then try to reach chilas next day,. and stay there.

In morning you start to Raikot. Park Car there, take jeep and then do trekk and reach to Fairy Meadow in afternoon.

Since you have 5 days, Fairy meadows is not suitable for you. It will take minimum 7 days.

Because 3 days are required to reach fairy meadow (one way) on self drive.

Public transport was good option.. but as you are coming from Lahore and also with family... so a very long journey....

Thanks bros... for your kind help... now forget about lahore-pindi-chilas-raikot brdige-fairy meadows..... i have only 5 days and definitely it is a very long journey with family....

I think I should go to Naran but isnt 5 days are more than enough for Naran? I wonder if i can go to fairy meadows and then back to naran withing these days? any idea or suggestion

I will leave on Wednesday early in the morning and have to return on Sunday at Lahore.

butt sab i have gven u the suggstion. go to naran and enjoy....
then u can travel on jeep to raikot/fairy meadows and back to naran via babusar pass. its ur only option.

5 days r not more than enough for Naran, there r plenty of places and activities there, u can spend a night or two in Shogran, visit siri paey or go to Sharan, but make sure there is no hotel in sharan, only a forest rest house, if u can book it, then from Naran u can make day trips to Saif ul Malook, Lalazar, Babusar Top. Fairy Meadow is a scenic place but not recommended for family and needs 8 days atleast, after all if u travel that much far then this place needs some time to spend and explore.

As I also made same planned which today I canceled due to shortage of time plus bad weather, as per my information which I gather for my trip,u can't go up to tattu in ur car as its a jeep track,u can park your car in raikot and from there hire a jeep, suitable place to park ur car is shangrila hotel in raikot

As I was also traveling with my family so wanted to keep them in good hotel,so when I booked everything on phone and the rate which they offered me was as follow
Besham ptdc 3750

Shangrila raikot 6000+500 for extra mattress

Jeep fm raikot to tatu 6000

Mule 1800 one side

Raikot sarai at fairy meadow 4000

Fairy meadows cottages 3500

But as per fairy meadow ppl too many ppl there and going there with out booking will not be good idea as u r traveling with family
