Hello,

Please give feedback on ZIC X7000 10W-40/CI-4 (5000) and ZIC X7000 15W-40/CI-4 (5000 POWER) diesel engine oil.

I'm currently running my car on 10W-40 mileage is 160,000 properly maintained and runs very healthy.

If I change its grade to 15W-40 what difference will it make? Will it increase its fuel economy.

Your insight on this will be very helpful.

One more question, We currently use Guard oil filter, Guard diesel filter and original Toyota OEM air filter. Is this a good combination? or shall I tweak this combination?

Diesel filter is changed on 10,000kms whereas OEM air filter on 20,000kms and we clean the airfilter every 1000kms

Why do u want to switch to a thicker oil in the first place if car is not giving problem

If your car's engine is running absolutely fine on 10w-40, then why switch / change?

What does your car's owners / users manual say regarding the engine oil? Does it suggest 10w-40? IF YES, then I would sincerely suggest to continue using it, as according to you, its already working fine in your car.

I don't think, it'll make any difference, rather, it may slightly decrease instead of increasing.

Generally speaking, switching from thin to thick engine oils can decrease fuel efficiency.

I would sincerely suggest to only use genuine and authentic filters from Toyota. Guard, etc. may be avoided.

Reference from a forum related to oil:

A lighter weight oil may not result in better fuel efficiency, unless an engine is designed to sustain thinner, lighter oil. However, engines that take thinner oil have much closer tolerances, and are much more susceptible to breaking down, if the owner doesn’t stay on top of oil changes. When it comes to motor oil, the manufacturer’s recommendation is the gold standard.
