a masjid can be erected over an amenity plot allocated by Govt, or a private property in Pakistan, after due process of local administration approval - if you go by book.
or else, the current scenario for land grabbing is erect a masjid, used as tool for encroaching upon piece of land. ( naouz billah )
my family has built a masjid in rural sindh during 90s' over our own piece of land permission was obtained through Deputy Commissioner granted by SINDH Government Ouqaf Dept.
- Plot size 3500 sq yards out of which 2000 sq yards is masjid area 1585 is solid concrete rest is open to sky.
remaining 1500 is used in surroundings & for wadu khana, toilets and tree plantation. It is a family trust funded Masjid so we are still the managers to the place., but locals are the back bone of support. At that time in 90s cost of construction was approx Rs. 100,00,000.
The Masjid is OPEN for all without sectarian discrimination with defined time slots. agreed upon during 'volatile' months of hijri calendar.
while it was under construction neem & khajoor plantation was done to keep the place cool in summers, due to absence of electricity we got a well for water, with a hand pump and conventional bucket system. few Plastic overhead tanks were installed at 3 foot height to ensure water flow for wazu in taps.
in year 2010 we got it powered through solar panels and a electric motor, Alhamdo Lillah it is very well run & managed by Locals. we visit that masjid 3 times a year. in Muharram, Rabiulawal & Rajab. In year 2014 we spent approx 700,000 for white wash and tiny bity repairs.
The wadera of locality tried to screw up & take over multiple times but the residents & locals with local administration neutralised them
