Injectors blocking Civic 1998

Dear Members

Assalam-O-Alaikum

as the title says My car Injectors are getting blocked again and again. Petrol tank removed and cleaned no rust now, all lines are cleaned, Fuel Filter which is placed in engine room replaced with original new one. but now again after driving 10-15 kms my 1-2 enjectors start working very slow and car knocks like hell. Im running car only on High-Octane. After cleaning the tank only High Octane added to the tank. My fuel pump is also new and its filter also replaced. when my injector start working slowly if knock them with screw driver they start working again properly. Please advise what to do ? do they need replacement ?

hey, first of all always put a 50/50 mix of high octane & regular premium. secondly, after what you have already done, best bet would be to unscrew your injectors and get them checked. if necessary get them changed. I would still say recheck your fuel tank, many at times the already rusted tank does not hold good for long. Note that if you have cng installed and run your car mostly on cng, then it could be the sludge built up in your cylinders as well. In that case, have a boroscopic inspection of all the pistons heads and cylinders and get them cleaned if necessary. Thanks

tank was checked yesterday and fuel which is coming from lines are also clean. yes the car was driven on cng from last year only start on petrol and convert on cng. how to check if injectors are ok ? before cleaning the tank and changing fuel filter's injectors was blocking randomly. before changing the fuel filter (which was never changed in past 18 years it was so rusty and when we removed it black and dark orange rusted color petrol came out from it) my first 2 injectors was making problem. My mechanic changed the filter and cleaned the injector with carb cleaner and it was all smooth but after driving my injector number 1 was working a little bit slow from others and after hiting screw driver 3-4 times on it.. it start working perfectly...

Ultrasonic cleaning is the only way to clean your injectors. Other than that these d-series injectors had small filters that filter out debris to avoid it getting inside the spray nozzle. No matter how much clean your fuel system, wear n tear in the rubber pipes that carry fuel to the fuel rail do cause blockage. Open the fuel rail and plug them out of the rail and check if they have those filters on the inlet side, they must be clogged and u can wash them with a brush and some petrol. If they don't have any, then u need to get them cleaned ultrasonically. And one more thing, check the grip of those faulty injectors, they might be loose. If a blow on top puts them back to work, it may be because of loose connectors.
P.S make sure the voltage across them is according to specifications

Thanks for your reply. Problem is solved. I got some extra injectors in spare i have replaced the number 1 injector and problem is resolved 99% only number 2 injector is a little bit working slow then other but its not notice able until you check them deeply.

Best thing to do would be to get all injectors cleaned using ultrasonic method. So that all of them have a good spray pattern.

You can check the pattern yourself. You just have to use a syringe and a current source.

the problem is back again ... on slow acceleration it rev fine but if press pedal suddenly engine vibrates badly. i know that due to rusted petrol these injectors are damaged... what should i do now ? installed new qabli injector or do ultrasonic cleaning ? which one will be better ?
