Install cruise Controll in Cars?

Can you tell from where in Pakistan can we buy this cruise control kit for Honda Civic 2010? Whats the cost, roughly?

If you buy a whole steering wheel with buttons then it would cost 35000 and only buttons and few wires would cost you 16000. As the Civic 8Gen has built-in Cruise Control inits ECU. All you need to do is to re-wire it with brake pedal, accelerator and steering.

Only the new 2010 shape has cruise control.

i agree partially.google it n u will get details of people who have DIY this feature.especially in malaysia n singapore.after doing the diagnostic check where all the lights in the meter flash,we see that the cruise control on light does not light up.had it been so,it wod ve meant that our 8 gen civics were cruise control ready.wiring is simple.1 wire from ecu adaptar (a39) to the 4 pin brake pedal,the other wire from pt 4 of the brake pedal switch to the 3 fuse(10A) or you can use a 12v relay n not change the 2 pin brake pedal to the 4 pin brake pedal. This wiring is addl to connecting the cruise control switches to the steering reeling. For cruise con to work in our local civics we need to change the meter n get the ECU reprogrammed.all this is for getting cruise con in 8 gen civic same as that we see in other parts of the world.merely being a DBW does not make it cruise control ready.

ive used cruise control in my bros 2009 mercedes c220 diesel auto.i drove around extensively in england. U can hardly use it for long.maybe it was due to the hy tfc usually on the m1 n m6. Havent tried it in Pak.mite be useful as less tfc on motorways. Cruise con in pak can only be used on the motorway n nowhere else.it mite be an psychological aspect that u have a cruise con in ur car but practically unless u dont have much travel on motorways its a useless feature for driving in rest of the parts of the country

I need him here ASAP! bought a civic type r leather steering from ebay with cruise control n audio buttons similar to the one cylestyne sold.will be getting it next month n will do a DIY INSHAALLAH of both audio and try to get the cruisy working after EID.ive googled n spent two days researching n got all the details.keeping me fingers crossed.

You do not need a new cluster; look carefully at your cluster. The cruise icon is already there. It does not light up because there's no wiring behind it. When you get the wiring put into the tach connector harness and press the cruise button it will light up.

It just means additional wiring steps for our car. The Thailand Civic FD 1.8 has the exact same ECU as ours. I do not see why their car would have cruise control which works and ours which doesnt?

You do not need a new cluster; look carefully at your cluster. The cruise icon is already there. It does not light up because there's no wiring behind it. When you get the wiring put into the tach connector harness and press the cruise button it will light up.

I rechecked on S'pore Honda Civic FD Club :: Index they were talking about honda civic FD1A n FD4A. Now did further research n came to know that FD1A is civic 1.8, FD2A Civic 2.0 , FD3A is the 1.4 variant n FD4A the 1.6. FD1A is the same civic as ours and it is possible to install cruise control on it.i stand corrected,thanx cylestyne! This is a Complete cruise component index of a 7th gen Civic from its service manual. Hope it may help u.

I couldn't read the rest of the post, but the first line is incorrect. You don't need Automatic transmission for this.

Adaptive cruise control only comes in 'very few' cars (like Audi A4 etc) and a few high-end cars from Toyota. Adaptive actually changes the speed for you when its needed.

However, for simple cruise control (which just fixes the speed at a particular point) you do not need Automatic Transmission.

1993 Accord came with manual transmission as well as cruise control. Honda Civic manual came with Cruise Control (not in Pakistan). Subaru was the first car company to provide manual transmission cars with cruise control in Australia.

It simply disengages or turns of Cruise Control as soon as you hit race, brake or clutch.

So yes, automatic transmission is not required for cruise control.
