Ur theory 4 adjuster 1 is almost correct. Setting it at green has some differencess/advantages but leave it. They r bery minor
Abt adjuster 2
It's the main setting. Which I think nobody gives priority. The theory is
- the advancer basically doesnt set timing by itself. It manipulate MAP sensor readings & compels the ECU.to change timing
- most MAP sensors send output in shape of voltage b/w .5 to 5v
- at idle the map reading is abt .9v
- & till 3k rpm it just rises to abt 1.x v
So u don't utilise it all the way to 5v u just roam arnd upto 2-2.5v
- just try to set ur advancer above 2.5v, the ECU will throw CEL
- so 2.5v is max u can set. But the corresponding timing advance which is set by ECU is unknown. That's why u Hav to limit the max advance caz after a certain lvl advance is dangerous
- if u set it as per increase in rpm when setting it, then u will notice it that ur max voltage will b arnd 2v (not even 2.5v which is default/standard)
- so moving all the way is dangerous & engine won't b smoothas well
Next thing. It doesn't control stepping. It just set themax value & changes it between .5-2.5v very smoothly. Not in steps. Normally u mov b/w 1-2.5v
A bit confusing I guess
