Hi,
I have a security system which I want to install in my corolla 2012 model. The system has these features mainly
- It can turn off the engine
- WIll notify me when someone opens the door
- Will notify me when someone turns the key to ACC.
I have already experimented with the system using a 12volt battery and its connections and understand how it works.
I just need to plug it in car to appropriate wires. Perhaps this can be done if I take it to an electrician.
But I find it interesting to explore and do it myself.
So for the three features above I need to find following cables.
- the power cable that if cut out will turn off engine. I have a relay that I will insert in that wire.
- For door, I will use Dome light because it is common for all the doors
- Acc wire,
and off course a constant 12V supply, that will keep the system on all the time.
I believe I will find all of them under the steering column.. but I have two problems.
- I don't know how to remove the steering column cover for my particular mode and the second is I need to know wire colours, so that I strip appropriate wires.
If anyone here has done similar installation for similar corolla models and can advise me, I would be very grateful.
