Installing Cat convertor

I have recently bought vitz 2006, 1.0 with no CAT convertor installed. Now I want to install convertor. Can anybody tell what will be the effect of installing Cat convertor on
1. Mileage
2. Engine noise
3. Power
4. Pick....etc.

By resetting ECU will the engine check light be vanished?

No there isn't any check light...occasionally it shows but vanish after restart the car. Mileage is round about 12km/L on short route.
