Installing city coils in reborn

Hello everyone.Wanted to know are city and reborn coils interchangeable? Mechanic recommended to install city coils as they are cheaper and easier to find in good condition and according to him more durable. So i wanted to know will installing city coils have any impact on acceleration/performance and fuel economy. Have seen other reborns with city coils so anyone who has installed them or has any knowledge please guide.

Coils are directly related to the ignition timing. Please use correct spec of coils (civic ones).

Thank u for the info.If possible can u please elaborate how and what the other/city coil will cause problem. I just want to learn more as its so confusing.

Every ignition coil has different spec's and dwell time.
Dwell time is the time coil takes to fully charge and create spark with respect to battery voltages.
Dwell time is mapped inside the ecu. If you install a coil of different dwell time it will not turn on and off when ecu want's it to, thus effects the ignition timing.
So you cannot change them until they are interchanged by the manufacturer.
Fuel injectors have dwell time as well.

Many people installed city coils in r18 civic because they are cheap like 4k for set and original used r18 ones are 10-12k for set

Yes most importantly they are in good condition. Just worried that can they be damaging to the ecu or any other component
