Hi Every one,
I drive a 2014 Suzuki Hustler (CVT) and have run into an interesting issue. wanted to share and see if any one could offer opinions.
The car was running fine and maintained regularly. Recently, I started feeling low acceleration and rough idle. Then it threw an Engine Light with the Code P0014. (P0014 Exhaust Camshaft Position Timing – Over-Advanced (Bank 1))
On inspection, VVT sensor was found to be broken. It was fixed, and the car returned to power and smoothness, but only 90 percent. Over the next 3 days, it was driven around and twice it came up with the check engine light.
This time, both the CAM sensors were checked, and they needed cleaning. once cleaned and refitted, the car's power was restored a hundred percent, and Idle is normal smooth as well.
But the engine check light still keeps up coming at random times under following conditions:
1) Code is always p0014
2) Check light comes on at random times. Mostly when car slows down and has to drive between 20-30 km/hr. - Correction: It comes on when ever I drive above 50 for long, and then slow down and have to drive slow below 20. always comes up at 20.
3) Even with check light on, the car does not lose any power and the idle remains smooth.
4) if the code is cleared, or battery is disconnected, the light goes away. car remains in optimal condition. and keeps on driving.
Any idea or tips what might be going on?
