I have removed and refitted the dash of my 96 model Civic. I did it to remove the heater core and replace the foam on the vents inside the heater core so the vents would seal properly.
First of all, it's not an easy thing to do, it took me two days to remove and refit everything, since I did it slowly and carefully. A professional might be able to do the same in one full day.
Secondly, a factory service manual is highly recommended. I had one and it made the job much easier. Without the manual the denter will needlessly open things that are not needed and break some clips in the process which will be hard to replace. I have the service manual for the 95 Civic and I will post the relevant pages which are related to dashboard removal.
Thirdly before you even attempt opening the dash, try to identify the exact points in the dash which are making the noise.
Fourthly, this job is not to be rushed, if you need to get it done properly, you have to give it time.
