You know one thing. You are paying for what is not possible on your line. You should down grade to 2 MB and stop paying for 4MB. You speed as your stats is even under 2 MB.

You are making PTCL rich. Pls post your Modem stats with SNR margins and etc. This is what I am alway worried about. You might be happy with your speed, But honestly its not 4MB.

Well in my area in Lahore, PTCL line-men are charging 1000 RS to 1500 RS to handle complaints. Well Its something which one can bear onces in a year. But every-time in same month is like a rip-off. I have to bribe the Lineman to get phone. He asked me 7000RS for just telephone line. But after he agreed on 4000 RS.

Its rip off. Waste of money and time both. You guy in good area with good human value are really lucky.

They don't bother glass of chilled fizzy drink. They all are after money.

Well its Lahore Thokar Niaz Baig. Its one of the Corrupt area in Lesco, SGNL and PTCL. New Lahore is stretching out and Problems you can't imagine. Every single person here is after money.

Just a lil correction, PTCL GPON aka FTTH was released roughly 2yrs back but just not launched publicly.

Thats interesting, In ISB NIATEL is providing such facility. But they charge 7000 - 10000 Rs for 1MB. Fiber is really speedy. It is a must for Banks, Gamers and Stock Exchange buying. It gives real time connects. But most of the people don't need that type of true connectivity. Ager hamari copper he 4MB day day, We can still happy.

You can see several grey big boxes with a boundry.these boxes are actually the module that converts light signals into electrical.
light signals are coming from the module in present in exchange.
the tech which i have mentioned in my previous post will actually get the power from our house.so no need to worry about load shedding.

Well do some web searches on your TP LINK router Modem. And check it. Its serious you are paying for what you are not getting.

PTCL GPON aka FTTH

Well it is for on demand for offices, Businesses, Software houses, E-commerce setups. For this you have to make a contract with them. They can provide 50MBs - 100MBs connection speed. I have this pole just 120 meter away from my house. But they are not providing connection from there. I think that household have some E-Commerce setup inside.

PTCL guy told me if I want 10MB then he can do something for me. But 10,000 Rs a month for 10MB connection for me is not feasible.

I got a stubborn DSL guy at my exchange and even he was not moved after my call to his GM but guess what complaint to PTA did the trick. All those who r sick of thr dsl asouls just complaint to PTA and see the magic.

NayaTel was the first ISP in Pakistan that introduced FTTH back in late 2006. Initially they started with a PON (BPON) network but later on upgraded it to GPON (google for more info on the difference between GPON/BPON).

Now coming to GPON, the initial development costs are very very high in this case and the end user device (referred to as Optical Network Terminal aka ONT) is also costly hence the installation charges are high as well. In the case of NayaTel, its around 25k+-, which includes ONT+UPS for ONT (installments also available for Rs. 1k p/m for 26months).

I actually called on this number in sheer disappointment and frustration and even my deal was almost finalized with mobilink infinty dsl guy but then pta fixed the ptcl's lazy n harmkhor dsl guy

guy on this number gave me number of local pta office with name of person.
