NayaTel was the first ISP in Pakistan that introduced FTTH back in late 2006. Initially they started with a PON (BPON) network but later on upgraded it to GPON (google for more info on the difference between GPON/BPON).
Now coming to GPON, the initial development costs are very very high in this case and the end user device (referred to as Optical Network Terminal aka ONT) is also costly hence the installation charges are high as well. In the case of NayaTel, its around 25k+-, which includes ONT+UPS for ONT (installments also available for Rs. 1k p/m for 26months).
