I have had a pretty decent experience with Wi-Tribe It has been in the family for over 7-8 years. It is a wireless, 2 MB, 100GB internet. Although, these days their services have been slouching a lot. Sometimes the modem loses its connection for two or more days. I’ve recently had a visit by a professional from their service and the guy said that there is not a single good internet connection in Pakistan as he has had been monitoring their signals at his work.

Anyways, my cousin who resides in DHA, says he has had a good experience with an internet called StormFiber, although StormFiber is a cable connection, it seems to outperform the horrendous PTCL, basically no comparison.

I also received same call. i was using 8 mbps copper with ptcl smart tv. the smart tv device was on installments and almost half of the installments were paid. (300 per month)
so they called n offered me that for a charge of 2000 installation charges they ll upgrade me to gpon with free smart tv device. I told them I have already a device on installments. The rep said that either get a new free device as per promotion or the remaining installments of the current device will be waived off. I opted the 2nd option as 2nd device is of no use for me as I have one tv.
Long story short the connection was supposed to be installed early December but they dragged it to end of December and informed me that connection installation date is out of promotion hence no free smart tv device and sent the bill as before along with installation charges of gpon. I wrote them many emails that this is not fair. inboxed on their Twitter and Facebook but first they denied that there was any such promotion then they said that it was for new customers only but in the end a guy from revenue unit called me thar ur installation is out of promotion dates hence it will be an audit objection for us if we give the device free to u. i told them that is a matter of principle and not just 300 rupees extra per month. I asked them in writing to disconnect my connection but they didn't and asked me to visit them at exchange which I didn't. I stopped paying bill and after 2 months they disconnected my internet but still sending me bill. so in this way they lost a long term customer. I have another number with my residence still active . I am ready to activate the disconnected number again if they fulfil their commitment but look like the bunch of bafoons are letting go 14k pending amount for a 300 smart TV device cost per month. my family ppl are stressing me to let it go n restore the connection but I am now studying nayatel packages n will not retreat from stance taken on principles.

Summary: Dont trust PTCL when they offer you new promotions.

The cheapest internet package is for 1550, and CATV costs 400 extra. Phone is free with your connection so in short you pay 2500 incl tax per month and get 10mbps, analog tv, and phone.
The above 10mbps is capped but even if you are a heavy user, you can use it smartly as 8pm-8am is unlimited + weekends as well.
I have around 1700GB in my carry forward and we are 4 users

Stormfiber is optical fiber, not cable connection.

Exactly same is the case with me. PTCL gave me a lot of trouble and had to call their call center frequently. Now it's 2 years with Storm fiber and not only the speed is a lot faster, there isn't any disconnection issues. However I have heard that its area specific and some people have trouble with Storm too (very few though as majority are really happy with Storm). PTCL used to die down during the weekend evening due to extra load and usage, however no such problems faced with Storm.
On mobile, I've found Jazz 4G the best.

people who still complain on stormfiber are mainly hardcore gamers as stormfiber has double NAT unlike PTCL so their IP addresses pool is very limited. Secondly local internet operators tend to cut stormfiber cables because in Lahore everything is hanging on poles unlike Islamabad where Nayatel has laid their cables underground. I have heard transworld is also good in Lahore. Stay away from fiberlink

Brother I am on DSL.

I have just calculated speeds via speed test.

As of now, 02:45 A.M. 22-05-2020, the DOWNLOAD Speed is 19.23 Mbps, and UPLOAD speed is 0.78 Mbps.

u r on adsl. call them to convert u to vdsl. its free if ur line support and u ll get half of the download speed as upload. in ur case u ll get 10 as upload.
in adsl no matter if u r on 50mbps u ll get 1 mbps upload

Nope. I think, I am on ADSL, and my line doesn't support VDSL (By default, VDSL is ON Via DSL settings, but then my internet does not work. I have to disable VDSL for the internet to work).

Still, I will talk with the representative and discuss the issue, for further betterment.

its not just you who will check the box in settings. they will first change settings from backend first. contact them if ur line statistics are good.

First check if ur exchange is the upgraded one through their website. It has a portal showing upgraded exchanges. If you find yours there then call 1218 and ask them to update your connection to vdsl. Upload speed would increase as the other member pointed out.

Hey guys, I’d like to let you know about the Wi-Tribe’s package they're offering to new customers, so it's called ’Supe-Duper’ which is a 3 MB internet with 150 GB limit, the monthly fee is Rs. 1400. Although an existing customer can't get this, this is just an attraction for the new customers. So, if you're already an existing customer, you need to cancel your Wi-Tribe services at the end of the month and register the ’Super Duper’ package with someone else’s NIC in your family.

This is what I've been told by a representative that visited us not long ago and he advised me to not tell anyone what he told us. But here I am.

Brothers, I have just talked with the PTCL representative, and he has told me that as per my current settings or line conditions, unfortunately, the upload speed will be capped / limited around 1Mbps, and VDSL is currently not supported in my case.

It there had been a possibility of VDSL, then it would have been great, still, no problem.

Yes no problem. Upgraded exchanges have vdsl so i got mine switched which increased the upload speed. It will eventually be done for your exhange as well i am sure.
