Salam everyone,

I have orient ecomfort 1.5 DC inverter installed on 1st floor since 3 years. Till last year it used to bring the room temp to 27 within 20-25 min from 35 degrees, but since this season specially at the end of ramazan when temp rose to 45 in lahore its performance has deteriorated. It takes around 2 hours to bring the temp to 27. It has never been serviced in these 3 years. Can anyone please guide what could be the reason. Many thanks.

I felt the same in 3rd year of use of orient.
Just washed the indoor filters and cleaned outdoor with heavy blowering which brought out lots of dust.
It's back to normal.

I bought a Dawlance Pro-active 30 about a month ago. If I run it for too long, it frosts up - there seems to be build up of ice and it even starts throwing pieces of ice and cold water out. When it does this, it barely cools the room. I had the original installer come in and take a look and he said everything's fine. Rather blamed me for setting it on Auto instead of Cool. Any pointers on what may be wrong?

of course he did. It could be low gas thats causing the ice buildup.

In summer there are mostly fake AC installers like the fake butchers on Eid, who have no idea what they are doing. Find an experienced installer, pay him more if you have too. Saves you from a lot pain and headache. And, don't worry about the vacuum.

As long as i know the problem has to be low refrigerat.

I personally had that issue with one of our Orient 1.5 ton ac which used quite frequently.

Because of long distance between indoor and outdoor every year i had to add refrigerat in ac.

Issue wasn't in ac issue was in joint which was in the line.

10 feet pipe came with ac so i mistakenly added 10 feet more after purchasing from market and it was joint which caused the problem.

To find out if the refrigerant is low, just check the apms. Inverter ACs with low refrigerant tend to lurk around 2-4 amps and do little cooling no mater how low you set the temperature.

Thank you @centos @roony @qurban2020! It was indeed low gas. Bought in a trusted repairmen and he recognized it instantly. Added refrigerant and it works perfectly now.

U added gas on ur own expense? as there is 3 months warranty of refrigerant if installed by company rep.

Very very Bad Performance of Inverter ACs when it goes to 2 amp mode or hibernation mode and one feels the AC is unable to maintain room temprature....

My ACs is Hier 1.5 ton AC

old ACs is 1.5 Heir AC (it performs better than Inverter)

I bought it off the electronics market here in Lahore (Abid Market), it was installed but a repairmen he recommended. The seller is trustworthy, I've bought stuff from him in the past. So not a company rep installation.

In these 04 options, I would sincerely suggest Gree! It is reliable, but may not be economical.

I think, the differences in prices can may be due to shashkas / looks, new model Vs old model, quality of Plastic material, etc. Internals might be the same in all the series, most important being the compressor, and all would be good enough.
