No not really. Went with Kenwood because of brand name, guarantee, service back up availability and claim of 75% savings. Don't know much about Haier.

There are many Kenwood ACs but the 1804S is claiming 75% saving. There is a 1803S which is 60% and it's cheaper but I went for 1804S which is well received in the market.

True but at the end of the day I needed an AC that gave me cost effective cooling. Couldn't wait any longer as this summer is just too hot.

You should consider orient as well both have Chinese compressors of GMCC

Orient has bad brand credibility. Anyway I am more than happy with what I have. Compressor unit is well built and AC unit its self is light weight.

Had 2 ACs installed both 1.5 ton. Took out my old Sabro AC which worked well (10 years) but wanted the saving element.

What do most poeople in this thread agree on? I want to buy either a kenwood 1804s or the latest haier inverter in 1800BTU. The kenwood has been a hit this season, but can anyone advise on better build quality? Thanks.

I have also narrowed down to these two.
kenwood has no heat option, therefore 70k is little higher and also its T1 class (though it claims, it cools in 50?C, dnt knw how).
While haier says its full dc inverter ( dont mention its 3 dc or 5 dc ), but the thing haier has upper hand over others is that it mentions its T3 climate class ac.

50 degrees would be the temperature outside. Inside temperature is around 33 degrees so cooling starts from there. I set mine to 26 degrees which is more than comfortable. I think most ACs that are inverter type are fully DC (that's what I think). Lastly Haier shows 66% saving. Unless there is independent verification than all companies are selling us gimmicks.

I considered Samsung, Haier, Gree and Kenwood. Samsung have good quality products same as Kenwood, so that tells us something. Gree don't know much about and wouldn't go for it but many here claim it's great.

So like you I narrowed it to Haier and Kenwood. Finally went with Kenwood because of warranty, previously products purchased and what made it swing for me was the 75% saving element as that was my initial goal others I would of got Acson or Mitsubishi.

Two Ascons installed in my office room both went bonkers today and I had to sweat it out the entire duty hours. They were only blowing air, checked remote again and again, set on cool, temp 18 c. Pathetic acs always need technicians around. So frustrated with them.

And about Daikin. In our street someone installed it brand new the outdoor unit is making so much weird noises.

Installation can be the problem. I've acsons working from last 15-17 yrs all good till now. I've seen Acs stopped working after a few days in mosque where they try to save each and every penny. Most of the people are unqualified to install the acs.

If installation is faulty then these units should not run at all. They give cooling, not more than a water cooler, for a couple of days and they start throwing out plain air. These are reversibel units BTW.

Thats installation issue. Was the outdoor unit far away ? Was extra pipe joined? Did he charge the extra gas (if required) ? Was the system vacuumed?
I'm not an expert in this field but if the systems were faulty you can claim the warranty.

Off peak hour units and peak hour units multiplied by their respective rates would be the cost of electricity. Then there's the huge taxes.

Haier has a 5 year compressor warranty. That's pretty impressive. Also claims 66% savings, 66-75% difference is negligible. I'd rather it last a couple of years more.

To be honest I think either are excellent choices. So good choice and hopefully it gives you many years of trouble free service!

I live in Karachi so the temperature at its hottest is mid 40s for a handful of days. And indoor temperature is probably a few degrees less anyway. Similarly it doesn't get very cold either so heating isn't that important either. These are all things you should consider to see what suits your situation best.
