I bought mine for 27k around 4 years back. It's a Chinese brand with some good specs like 8cfm (@50hz), 2 stage, and sturdy built etc. Robinair was avaialble for 50+ at that time with half the discharge rate.

Alhamdu'lillah never needed an AC technician except to lift the outdoor and place it over the wall brackets.

Same goes for my car ac, it's much fun and satisfying to work with the right tools.

My 2 cents on this issue of vacuuming if inverter ACs.

Palwheelers try to get work done from the company of AC.They have their approved installers and you can insist on vacuuming from them.
I have 2 gree inverters. In may 2020, both developed fault of no cooling or low cooling. Gree team rectified the issue and I told them specifically to bring actual vaccum pump not the fridge one or don't come at all. They did as per my requirements and now both are functioning correctly. Khawari and nuisance of follow up is there but the company staff knows how to do the job.
It's a shame that during the first installation, generally companies do not offer installation service which they say is not possible for them due to the work load. Sharing a screen shot of orient, even they started offering home service last year.

yes this is true but as you mentioned, the initial installers are just contract based people and they don't follow proper procedures.

Here on forum members have said that only Acson offers installation of their brand new unit with vacuuming and all.

Let me know from where you buy the vacuum pump. I'm waiting to get my 2nd connection installed, then I'll also buy a 1.5T AC. I'm planning to install it myself but vacuum is the only concern.

Installers to this date keep on arguing "Sir Vacuum ki koi zaroorat nahi" Purge sa air remove ho jati ha. My Boss was buying Gree i told him sir not to get it installed without vacuum, he thought i had some personal gain it, i said go a head and get it installed with purging. Naki ka be koi zamana nahi. Lol
So he got Gree installed today without vacuum and with Purging. But anyway i was talking to this seller and he was Sir kyn kerwana ha, when i said app book khol ker parh lain than he said Sir app khud kerwa lain. Bachna wala or lagna wala dono sala Jahil ka bacha hain, pata nahi kahan Jailon sa wasta per gaya ha.

Both my orient and dawlance AC user manuals have instructions on how to vacuum the AC. They even state to do it at least 15minutes and also mention the minimum pressure value that has to be reached. Purging can be okay for R22 if you cannot vacuum it but much more important for R410. I have 3 old non-inverter ACs at my home all running strong. One of them, dawlance 1ton is 14 years old. I remember the electrician came with a small vacuum pump. Too bad his shop is closed for a while now and can't connect over phone either.

Furthermore, one of the main dealer who supplies refrigeration parts/equipment (of Chinese origin) to these shops is located in Peshawar, karkhano market. However, for a customers who purchase an item or two prices are almost the same.

brother that is exactly the same experience i had with haier company installer and to further add to it gas from my haier AC leaked in a season.

afterwards i came to know about adeel (i shared his details above). he clearly told me that he doesnt know and cant do vacumm thing. however the guy is totally reliable and trust worthy. he always installs to my satisfaction taping the pipes, using proper screwing technique and filling the holes cleanly.

so i have given up regarding getting vacummed installations however simple installation works and no issues AL HAMD U LILLAH.

I was using 1 ton Gree inverter ac from 5 years. But this year it doesn't have cooling. So called a technician who is also on contract with Gree service center here in Karachi. He checked and said that the U-bends on the evaporator coil has leaked so they all need to be changed through company. He said that if only one of the 14 U-bend is leaked, even then all need to be replaced. Also he said that only one side's U-Bends will be changed. He took the indoor unit with him.
Can anyone confirm this that all U-bends need to be replaced? Gas+service+U-Bends is costing 7000 rupess.

u bend leakage cannot be checked without pressurizing it and checking for bubbles.

from the looks of your coil, its quite dirty and badly choked.

by low or no cooling, do you mean no cooling in the room? or poor air throw from the inner unit?

in my case, there was cool air from the inner, but only coming from a small part of the inner unit, rest was choked.
