Inverter Type AC in Pakistan (Inverter/Non Inverter Dedicated Discussion)

Epoxy Resin. You can get it from any hardware store. Costed me 600, small packs are also available. There are two bottles you need to mix in equal proportion, it'll be thick like honey. Upon drying it'll become hard like glass. [image]

Yups there is no substitute for proper installation. Thete is rust issue in my area so I'm coating exposed copper u bends and pipes with epoxy resin. This will prevent outer surface area. [image] [image]

What is normal repair cost of Inverter type AC? Like gas leakage, U bend replacement or welding etc?
I am thinking of Inverter type AC for the first time and many people saying that although it will save electricity but even if there is a simple leakage issue it will be very costly to repair and u cant even get rid of it as it has almost negligible resale value…

Leakage is not an issue whole inner unit is same except for the Ac control card aka PCB...

Its outer unit is different and is with controllable compressor speed / power...

Uband replacement or coil replacement or welding is not a big deal....

Main thing is the PCB which get fried normally due to not doing service (Ac got heated up and PCB give up) or voltages up and down or voltage spikes or bad frequency....

If any of these issues are present (power related) It is good to add voltage stabilizer with surge protection....

Yes PCB problem is a much bigger issue and my AC technician always make me afraid of it. Then i have to spend further money on stabilizer as well!! Previously i have been using my ACs without stablizers
But what I have heard is that pressure in coil is also higher than normal ACs and thats why ubends leak much earlier and welding cost is more than normal ac

you might want to check out pakref, they do corrosion protection coatings.

primarily i think its just lacquer / clear coat on all the electronics/copper.

but their rates are way too much.

Bhai ab tak mein ne pata nahi kitne AC walon aur normal user se mashwara ker liya hai

Everyone saying Inverter is a too risky game as in longer run its repair cost will equalize the amount of electricity it saves

And then again good inverter companies like Gree and Kenwood AC are too expensive but people say that they will last much longer

I was tilted towards Chang hong ruba as its 1.5ton is cheapest

@s.usmanali2011 how is this candy brand especially compared to Changhong Ruba?? PCB Warranty is good to have for 2 years but i have heard inverter’s leakage repair is much costlier than normal AC

Haier is better than chanhong ruba...

Leakage is same....... Same coil...... same piping.... same body every thing is same in inner unit.....

Shopkeepers saying that for sure inverter and non inverter will leak or cause some issue after 2 seasons. They are almost ready to give guarantee that problem will come within 2-3 yrs as quality has seriously gone down in recent times

i live in north karachi.

i have a 8 year old dawlance 1 ton inverter. never repaired, never leaked, never gas charged. still works perfectly fine. i clean it now and then without dismantling.

i have 2 year old kenwood 1838s 1.5 ton inverter. very good on electricity consumption. cleaned twice, has not needed any repair

i have haier 1 ton inverter about 5 years old. got it when inverter was cheap(or maybe it was a deal). 37k for 1 ton inverter. its rarely used, but has not needed any repair.

Bhai aap ne tou mujhe inverter ke liye motivate ker diya hai. But pehlay ki sari cheezein bohat achi hoti theen and near sea side everything deteriorates much earlier

But i am planning to buy Changhong Ruba. Two of my colleagues have already bought and despite requesting to bring ammeter the installation guys didn’t bring it so i am afraid whats the reason behind it. Kahin aisa tou nahi ke wo inverter mode mein jata he na ho. Specifically I am talking about SDH-18SW Pro model

i cannot say about that, except to buy from authorized dealers only.

regarding candy / haier, check on daraz, there are more than 1000+ reviews about it.

i can personally recommend kenwood 1838s, but it is definitely overpriced at 140,000 for 1.5 tons.

i would NOT recommend samsung, due to non availability of spare parts. this is from one of the bulk suppliers our company buys from.

all blame cannot be placed on the ac built quality. Installation is also very very important. a perfectly fine AC can be damaged by idiot installers.

I am also not a typical consumer/end user. I have my own tools and material for carrying out AC install my self. such as vacuum pump, gas charging lineset, clamp type multimeter, drills etc.

since you mention the sea, you can either pay Pakref guys PKR 7000 for doing a corrosion protection of your AC. or if you can take things apart and put them together, do it your self with epoxy. honestly it is NOT at all difficult, at the max you will need a phillips head screw driver

cannot say anything about warranty.. however i have not seen any seal sticker that can be broken, applied on the inner or outer units..
