2 Ton Inverter AC installation experiment done last year in a 12.5 feet x 14 feet upstairs room. Room is mostly 40C without AC in peak summers.
The main benefit of an overpowered inverter is that it will automatically adjust it's capacity according to room and provide instant cooling, that brings stabilizing amps very low, even at 22C - 24C thermostat.
2.5
1.5A - 0.35 Unit Per Hour
2.5A - 0.57 Unit Per Hour
3.5A - 0.80 Unit Per Hour
The Good Part:
Low Stabilizing Amperes:
Cool Mode:
Night time (after 1 - 2 hours) - 1.5A to 2A at 22C - 24C thermostat.
Day time (after 2 - 3 hours) - 2.5A to 3.5A during peak summers (40C+) at 22C - 24C thermostat.
Lowering thermostats to 22C - 24C has very minimal impact on stabilizing amperes.
Heat Mode: 1.5A - 2.5A at 26C throughout the day and night.
Minimum Possible Amperes:
1.5A when the outdoor weather is 32C or lower.
2.5A - 3.5A when the outdoor temperature is 42C+with direct sunlight on outdoor unit. It will take a minimum of 2.5A - 3.5A even if kept at 30C thermostat. Because this is the slowest 2 ton compressor could run during that peak temperatures.
The Universal "Darwaza band karo, AC chal raha" problem:
It increases amperes nominally upon leaving the door open and instead starts cooling the room next to it.
The Bad Part:
Compressor Tripping at 27C - 31C Thermostats (Cool Mode):
It trips at 27C - 31C thermostat, because even at its lowest speed, its cooling the room more than it's requirements, so has to trip to regulate the room temperature. So room temperature fluctuates.
Less dehumidification:
At 27C - 31C thermostats, the humidity levels are moderately higher.
Excessive heating (Heat Mode):
At heater mode: it has to be run at minimum 22C - 24C, as it trips in 16C - 22C thermostats, due to being over powered.
By tripping, i mean it has to cycle on and off to maintain room temperature.
This type of experiment is not posted here before. Your valuable opinions on it?
- 1.5 Ton
- 2 Ton
- 1.5 Ton at lower Cooling / Heating
- 2 Ton at better Cooling / Heating
- I will get 2 Ton for smaller room next time
- I will get 1.5 Ton for smaller room anyway
- This guy is crazy
