Both these ACs work the same as other 1.5 ton ACs so I’m curious why these two..?

I guess cheaper options might be something like a midea 1.5 extreme

Midea are relatively newcomers with very few service centers in Pakistan. LG is a global and reliable company, we've already have an LG AC working without any issues for 7 years. Our all other ACs are Gree, also working flawlessly. I only included LG because I like the design of it more.

Don't go for Pular series in gree

It's copper and u bend quality is quite inferior to fairy or airy, I'd suggest going for some other brand like tcl or Haier if budget is an issue, their models with price closer to pular are certainly better in quality

In fairy series fairy 1, 2 and 3 are better than fairy 4 5 and 6 models.

Airy's quality is also comparable to fairy 1, 2 and 3 but tradeoffs are peak cooling capacity (it's strictly 18k btu whereas fairy's peak is 22500 btu), air throw can't be set below a certain angle and lacks cold plasma ion generator.

27 year old General Window AC U bends quality.

Current quality of inverters evaporator coil, especially U bends, compressor pipes, etc are too low quality.

It's best to open the air filter of display units to have a quality difference between top tier brands and Chinese brands.

The amount saved by opting for a lower quality product will cost 4-5 times more in the long run, in the name of gas refills, poor efficiency due leak gas, coils replacement cost, inconvenience, poor safety standards etc.

On power meter, it still averages 0.75 units per unit in 24/7 usage at 26C room temperature. But first 2-4 hours, it runs at 10A (2.3 units per hour).

Evaporator coils. No Gold Fin, No Blue Fin, but still strong.

Window ACs are GOAT!!

Really requires some real guts to operate one of these bad boys in 2025. Same as the one who dailys a V8 nowadays.

I feel like in the name of emissions or being efficient, products lifespan is also being decreased and it's not just limited to ACs; even those unnecessary turbocharged cars we are seeing today are facing same issues.

Samsung 18ASFZ Series R-410a series U bends, evaporator coils and condenser coil quality.

Other than being excellent, it's responsiveness is too swift, within a few of seconds of door opening, it starts sensing temperature change and ramps up the amps slightly.

It feels atleast 3-4 times heavier gauge materials than Chinese ones.

Nope
No scientific basis to claim it has better U bends or coils quality than flagship brands of local models. I’d argue the local ones are better with anti corrosion coating perhaps .

Here’s my 4 year tiny review of 2021 ChangHong Ruba 1.5t:

Didn’t want this AC, but got this unit in a barter exchange with a relative.

Got installed with those desi installers with no vacuum pump or any fancy stuff in sight.

Pros:

Good power consumption. Trips at 26 starts right back at 2 amps which is neat.
24/7 usage along with freezer and fridge gives total monthly consumption of 550-600 units.

Cooling is surprisingly good which makes me wonder how best it could be with proper installation and good quality gas.

Cons:

Major drawback is coil getting dirty as if there’s no filter. I do clean filters every 10 days where they don’t really look clogged compared to coil. Currently at a point I’m looking to service this in 2.5 months full usage.

Should I pull up my Karcher to service this or is there any special spray online I can get?

16A Tuya Wifi based smart plug (relay system). Surprisingly awesome.

It has so much automation, including voltage protection etc. It shows realtime current, voltage and power consumption too, however current and voltage measured is accurate, but not the power consumption stats (weirdly).

Tested up to 11A load (2 ton) for 1 year, works without any overheating.

The key is to utilize it, find an optimum amperes to cooling ratio.

The next best thing. Unless the room temperature comes down to set temperature, it will not reduce the amperes like it should.

Get one of these cover and use a pressure washer.
